I want to know about this no. Bcoz they said its Australian taxation dept and get some money from us

I also got a call from this number, same this has been told to me. Please help if anyone knows

these guys are a bunch of scammers. I just called them back and told them I was tracing the call. they hung up immediately.

I received a call from this no.02 6100 8155 and says that they are calling from Taxation Department Australia.and I am sure they are not.

'Michael Adams from ATO'  called. Said I had been chosen, based on a number of criteria, (listed them to me) and said I had won  a one-time A$7000 grant. I was given a reference number and asked to cal  this number and speak to senior ATO  officer Ms Christina.  I called the number and spoke to Ms Christina but she said they were experiencing some technical problems and asked me to call them back in 30 minutes.

Naturally, I was suspicious and asked both Michael and Christina if they were from the Australian Taxation Office.  I warned both that is an offence to falsely represent themselves as from the  Australian Taxation Office if they are not. Bothconfirmed they were and Michael further said we could report them if the were falsely representing the ATO (as we understand it).

With all the digital tracking can someone really trace these people and charge them please.

Yep, exact same call, certainly a scam, I called the return line and someone keeps hanging up, have a good mind to follow this up and report this scam to teach them a lesson

I received the same call.  Telemarketer had an Indian accent.  Told me I had won $7,000 from the Australian Tax Office as I had a good community record, no criminal record, paid my bills on time etc.
I was told to ring 02 6100 8155 and given a reference number to quote to the "ATO"  representative who would then organise the payment details over the phone straight away, and write me a cheque!

No I don't really believe in Santa Clause!

Update - I called the number and asked for proof of Identification.  They asked for my Reference number given in their initial call.  I said I would not give it to them until I had proof of their ID and that it was not a scam. I was told that their ID was in their bag, they couldn't get it right now, and that I should call back tomorrow between 11am and 5pm.  They then hung up.

The girl who answered the callback was "Christina".
We were too offered $7000 for being good citizens & 1200 people were chosen for this grant.
Same day after about 2 hrs, I called ATO & they said that this is definitely a suspected SCAM.
ATO never cold calls & they never pay $$$s in this way.
ATO advised me to report this scam through their website & I would advise you all the same

I received a call from 0261008155, saying that you have been selected by australasian tax office canberra to recive a sum of $7000.00 . the operator even gave me a reference number to quote when claiming the prize money. i am sure that it is  a hoax.  when i asked that how do i know if it is a geniune call; the operator tried to dodge this question which rose my suspsions even more.

Guys its a scam!! I called the official ATO, got theit number off the australian government website and the first thin the guy on the line said that it was a scam! They do this to get confidential details off people and make them transfer money into their account so bewareeee! just don't fall for it :)

Same thing for me surely they must be easy to trace and pinpoint ? cant we report this to the relevant authority ?

Same thing happened to me. Whats the chances they can actually access my accounts or have any information on me. I only stated  my name.

I had got the same call Like "Sharon 9 Oct 2012" on 07/02/2013 on 15:00 Hrs. the call was suspicious to me as well. The caller named Michael sounds Indian accent (Probably) and can't talk very well and i was quite sure he can't be a representative from ATO. He also mentioned me that he's from Australian Taxation Office, Canberra and Australian Government Decided to pay me $7000 for my good Credit rating and ontime bill payment. He called me in my home phone and told me to call Ms Christine Miller on (02) 6100 8155 at Australian Taxation Office, Canberra.

I was greedy and planning to contact and follow them. Anyway, thanks for awareness.

I rang the number given and spoke aperson with a strong Indian accent who informed me that I need to give a one off donation to UNICEF but to the Managing Director whose name is MOHD SAMSHAD with an address - 31 Ring Road DELHI India post code 1101159

I received the call this morning. Thought it was hoax as I realise Government never offer a grant $10,000  for being a good citizen. I recorded the conversation.
