These people are calling me claiming that my pc is sending error reports to them and they want me to purchase an extended warranty from them. The employer id numbers they gave me do not come up on that company employee list and the phone number they gave me does not seem to exist. I want to know if this is a con or not.

Scammers  from India wanted me connect my computer to their website to control it.

Gave me this number. How do we find out which voip provider supplies the number so we can report the scammers

But wasnt very helpful when i asked him to spell the company name and address - hung up after I requested the spelling

contacted my senior citizen friend....same scam...wanted credit card number.....

...unfortunately....my friend allowed him to tel net into his computer.....he does not keep any finincial info there so hopefully, no damage..

laughed at me and challanged me to catch him...

I got a call from these too. I guessed it was a hoax when they asked me to go on line with my Windows computer. I don't have one. A Mac user. Is there an authority we can report this to?

Just got off the phone call from this number - Indian man calls himself Ron Williams (what a joke).  Company apparently called Global IT.  Thanked him for all his details and advised him that I am now going to report him to the Do Not Call Register.

I get these calls about twice a week claiming to be either,"Microsoft Customer Support or Technical Support". They keep telling me that my E-mail is sending error reports?? I ended up managing to get the phone number & company name off the foreign man I was talking to (with a great deal of difficulty understanding him!). The company is called "Global Technology" & there number is 0280050464.

So, my Nana received three call in one day from these people. She is bloody open hearted and answers their questions politely, but has been cautioned enough to not go to her computer. I've just registered her on the donotcall register so hopefully they are bound to the ACMA rules. Failing this, I will be pursuing them with whatever means I can discover. Global IT, PH 02 8005 0464

When I asked who they were they told me that they were a company called Global Communications working as support for Microsoft Windows. It was an indian lady called Sharon! She asked me to begin to press the ctrl key and the windows key, I became very suspicious and said I wouldn't do anything as I didn't know who they were. The lady gave me a number 0280050464 - I didn't call it! How do you report this?? It's definately dodgy!

Excactly the same as me. Some Indian lady claiming to be called "Anna", from "Sydney", working for Microsoft Online Technical Help.  Lucky for me my pc was down that day so she wanted me to call her back but that aint gonna happen.  The best way to deal with this is to ask question so they know you aren't silly, and then report them online to SCAMWATCH (www.scamwatch.gov.au).  These scams come up every now and again.  The scamwatch website has a page describing this very scam but it's from 2010, so it's time we got them back onto the dodgy people.  How dare they!

Report this to www.scamwatch.gov.au.  There are a lot of people who simply don't know better and get ripped off.  Total con.  You were right to be suspicious.

I just got call from these Indian people saying my pc is sendind error and he can help me fix it. The guy called himself David Lewis hahaha, i got his no and told him i will call him latter

Also received the same call claiming to be representing Global Technology the cloud.Also was indian.Needless to say i didn't follow up nor turn my computer on.Wondering how and if they knew i even had a computer.

I know that i have been scammed by the company called Global IT also known as Global PC Protection. It is based in India and its original name is Ansh Info Solutions PVT LTD. its is based in sector 1 salt lake near FD park. The owner of the company is Alkesh Biyani his contact number is 9830378289 and 9007093289. He is the mastermind who is doing this scams.. I got all this information form one of his worker known as Austin. I thanks to him. But its too late i cant do anything but i erge all the peoples and the police of australia to take legal action against that bustad Alkesh Biyani. Infact i want that he should get arrested. I payed more than $1500.

I payed more than $2000.the name of the agent who scammed me his name is jack swagger, rose, they had made the payment through mercaway. and the biggest cheater blooddy [***] is there owner alkkesh biyani .May god give him a death like a dog.And i forgot to name a bigeest cheater among is Alex murphy.

just got another call from these guys, Told him that he was a scammer from India not Sydney Australia like he claimed to be and that he wasnt worth the [***] being scrapped from the bottom of my f**king shoe and he hung up on me.

they tried to get me last year too, and that guy told me that he could do 'whatever the f**k he wanted and that he was going to remotely shut my f**king computer down if I didnt give him my credit card details' so I started using every cuss word under the sun (except the c word) in my response to him and he eventually hung up lol....its not a new scam, some ppl are just unfamiliar with it so believe it
I just wish I was really techy savvy and could go into full details about computers and stuff them right up lol

I received this call yesterday. Couldn't imagine what they were telling me was true, but stayed on for a while because I couldn't figure out what they wanted. In the end, they wanted to connect to my PC to install extended licenses which would protect all of the computers using the same Internet connection...that was the last straw. No way I was going to let them do that. Most of what he said didn't make sense, but I did go through the process of turning on the only PC that could have been sending signals and he led me through checking my msconfig file. I know enough about computers to know looking at this file was not going to do anything harmful. He wanted to show me a list of error messages that were saved there...they exist, but I believe they are saved every time any MS program crashes..which is pretty often. When he wanted to connect to my PC, I told him I would have to do it later...no time, had to get my kid.! Interestingly, he was willing to take control of my PC while I was out! No way! All the time no mention of paying anything, right up to solution to problem is to update my licenses. That is not the way MS licenses work. All very fishy. My guy was Nick from Sydney.

What are they going to do when they have taken control over the computer?
