Thsi number keeps calling and telling me they are from an Accident Investigation Service and that "someone fron this number has had an accident in the last three years.

They keep ronging and saying one of us have had a accident and we are owed compensation

They called our work number and when we didn't co-operate they started swearing at us. It is a total scam.. "Accident compensation" they said they were from Sydney Claims Lawyers- This doesnt exist.

Received call from this number from a female - very difficult to understand.
Said she was from Sydney Lawyers.
Took the phone number down and when Googled, this page came up.

This number keeps calling our work number and telling me they are from an Accident Investigation Service and that "someone from this number has had an accident in the last three years". When you don't cooperate they get very aggressive and one time the person started swearing. They are foreign, one could hardly speak english. Definitely a scam

Forgot to mention they called 6 times in 15 minutes

I let it ring so that my answering machine could make a record.
They hang-up before activated, only a certain number of rings and the are gone.

This number has called half a dozen times today and keep hanging up when you answer

Have had 30+ calls each day the last few days.  They say they will keep it up because we have told them to go away.  Have complained to Telstra who are putting a trace on the ph to see what telco they are with, Do not call register (but we are a business) and the police who are coming out to see us.

It hard at work, you HAVE to answer the phone and you just know that cold caller knows it, as the DNC list isn't available to work numbers.  ( what a crock that is!!!)

A whistle by the phone and it might convince them it's not worth their time to harass you ( as they know they get away with it). Most the time it doesn't even cost them to make the phone call.  They need something very unpleasant at the very time of the call.

Kim called twice today and pissed me off same number to phone back 0280067373. Bloody scammers.

This lot have been trying VERY hard lately, probably because their scam is so pathetic that the success rate would be very low!
"Adam" called me with the same old "Accident Claims Department" asking to speak to the person at my number who's had a vehicle accident, within the last 2 years, where they were not at fault but were injured & did not receive any compensation. He also stated that his company was working for the "Roads & Maritime Department", which I believe elevates the level of this fraud.
I have had the same story, mostly from private numbers, many times over the last few months.
The company names vary slightly "Sydney Claims Lawyers" etc., the word "claims" is usually in there somewhere. Also, they never have specific information about the accident, date of accident, people involved, insurance companies, names, dates or ANYTHING! When pressed they anger quickly & tell you they don't have that information, they just have a telephone number & were told that "somebody" at that number has some unclaimed compensation coming their way!
I occasionally play along for a bit. Once, when I said the "game" was over & laughed, the fellow retorted that he had already been paid $100 for the call (yeah right)!
On another occasion a lovely young Asian lady said, "F**k you!" after I suggested her actions were unethical & immoral!

Also received a call at 5.45pm from the "Accident Claims Dept" from a male with a foreign accent, however with a very Australian name. He wanted me to confirm that someone from this household had a car accident in the last 3 years. I told him that our last car accident was put through our insurance company and no compensation was applicable. After listening to him for a few minutes I told him that he was a crook. Tried to confirm his business name and address. He said he was from Sydney Claims Lawyers. When googled 0280067373, I came to this site.

Same as the above except that he was very persistent and polite, even when quizzed.  Gave me his phone number, said he was from Accident Claims Department of Sydney Claims Lawyers and that they get their referrals form Road and Maritime NSW and even gave me their webpage address.  The delay in them picking up the call indicated that it was a call centre, and the Indian accent screamed "SCAM" but I have emailed Road and Maritime NSW so that they know their name is being used.  Not much can be done though I suppose.

I have had approximately 12-15 calls from this number in last 1 hour. First female caller (Indian accent) told me she was from Australian Government Investigation Office and that my file had been passed on to her as I was entitled to compensation because of an accident I had had in the past 3 years and she needed personal details from me to ensure I was the correct person. When I told her I had not had an accident she insisted I had. She even prompted me with some possible accidents I may have had, a fall in a shopping centre, a car accident etc. I told her I hadn't had one but she continued to insist. I went along with her to see where this scam was going and said I fell on a footpath. I told her I was not providing any personal information and hung up. wow what a mistake. Don't do that as now they have not stopped calling. It's like they smell blood.  when 'Sam' rang a short time later, He was much more persistent and said he was from Sydney Claims Lawyers and rattled off my address and phone number to try and convince me he was legitimate. I told him I knew he was scam and hung up and he has continued to ring me ever since. I have now had to leave my phone off the hook for sometime. I rang Do Not Call Register directly and lodged a complaint because it is a Sydney Number and they are claiming to be Australian Companies but there is little they can do. It will be investigated but they can't stop the calls. She directed me to my telco who can block numbers. Rang Telstra and asked them to block number but not all lines are "compatible" and able to be blocked ie. fibre optic connections. So now just put phone back on hook and will probably get more calls from Sam soon. :-(. Only others extreme suggestion Telstra offered was to change my number which means internet etc would be out for min 5 days. Crazy system.  

I got a few calls from this number over the past few weeks. I told them that there was no one at my address who had had an accident, nice try and that the police have my phone tapped and that they would be in contact to lay charges soon.

Just had a call from Sydney Claims Lawyers, Indian with very thick accent. Would not give me any details of said claim or dates of when accident happened. When I wouldn't confirm my details they became very abusive and told me I was in BIG trouble. The only thing I got out of them was that they where linked with the federal government and NRMA...

keep getting calls from call centre obviously overseas hardly understand them always after details of somebody at our number that has had an accident in the last three years and they are entitled to compensation claim because they were not at fault

Just had a call via work number about them being from the 'Accident Investigation Office'.  I asked her what was the vehicle registration, who had the accident....afterall I look after 100s of vehicles.  I think I confused her and haven't heard back yet.  They have tried several work numbers and several people had the same.

Called my mum and she couldn't understand them, so she gave them my number. They called several times, in the end I told them to give me their name and number and where they are from, and surprise, surprise, its this same number. They keep referrign to "the government" and indicating I'm eligible for compensation. They didn't have any details correct. I hung up.
