I received a call today from this number and they said they were from RSPCA but I suspect it is a call centre that may be working on behalf of a number of charities

I received a call from this number today claiming they were the RSPCA and asked me if I wanted to sell raffle tickets. The man then asked how many I would like to purchase and asked for my credit card details.
I said I would not be giving my details over the phone and asked how he got my number. He would not answer that question and said that's okay goodbye.
It clearly is not the RSPCA so DO NOT give your details.

My post didn't work, yes I to got a phone call on my mobile today 7/11/12 from the RSPCA (sure it was) his name was Greg I asked who he was after and he didn't answer me he just told me his name and that he was from the RSPCA selling raffle tickets for the Malaga Centre (WA), now why would you call for a WA cnetre from the east, I told him I could not help as I knew it was most probably a a scam so please don't give any details and just hang up

I got the same call - and rang the RSPCA in Malaga. They say that they do sell raffle tickets by phone and it is done from their Sydney office. I waited to find out if te number was legitimate, however it took too long waiting on the end of the line!
I guess that it must have come off raffle tickets I bought - although I always tick the box asking for no contact.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from RSPCA but on a Do Not Call registrar.

It is this group below calling on behalf of a number of charities. Charities are exempt from Do Not Call Register but you can contact them using the details below to have your details removed from their database (which they must do if requested). I personally think they are walking a thin line as a commercial entity representing a charity (think Do Not Call should apply unless the charity is contacting you themselves):

Called first from a private number then 2 minutes later on this number. Both times hanging up after I said "hello".

The number is a dialer used for legitimate charity fundraising.

This particular number is used by Fred Hollows, Guide Dogs for the Blind, the RSPCA, and Amnesty International among others.

I used to work for one of these organisations. If you are being hung up on that is most likely because there is a note in the system that you are either someone who abuses charities over the phone, or you continually block a call meant for your spouse, not you, pretending that person doesn't exist or is always "in the shower" etc.

THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO if you do not want to receive the calls, is to always take the call then say politely "I am not interested, can you please take me off the list". The agent will then be happy to hit F5+NEVERCALL and you will be removed from the system. This is totally at the fundraisers discretion, so be polite and don't be abusive.

Charities are exempt from the DNCR, are allowed to call private numbers, unlisted numbers, and any other kind of number. Your Government allows this and Telstra and big data companies provide your number, for a fee of course.

Yesterday I had two calls from a private number from overseas and today two calls from a private number and then this number 0280362172 a man claiming he was calling on behalf of the RSPCA. Was that the same caller? I don’t fxxx care anymore. I leave my answering machine to take the calls for me and I block the numbers appearing on my display. The main FXXX culprit is TELSTRA for putting my phone number in the directory without my consent.

Have received numerous calls from this number. They always hang up when I respond and never pick up when I call back. If they are really a Charity call center - they are doing a lousy job of it.

I have received three calls from this number and at home as well, it could be a scam, Ive never given donations to the rspca

Got a call since I donated and bought raffle tickets sometimes. Legit, and professional when I asked to just be emailed about this stuff in the future.

I got a call from this number saying he was selling raffle tickets for the RSPCA Malaga. After I told him I'd been out of work for 16 months he then wanted to know how much credit card debt I had as he may be able to help. I don't have a credit card so he hung up.

This is utterly bogus information. There is no way in the world a charity would have a list of people who are flagged in their system as being abusive or otherwise troublesome, then go ahead and ring those people only to immediately hang up when the person answers. What purpose would that serve? It would only waste the time and money of the call centre.

They said they were from the tapes checking if that is legit

I get a call from this number nearly every day, there's someone there as you can hear them but they don't say anything and then they hang up, even after I've said hello several times.

Received a call at 8.19pm tonight (Tues.4th June) reached my message bank but did not leave a message.

Am fed up getting numerous calls from this number. When answered no one replies
