I tried to call this number back to see who it was. it rang once and then went to the hang up sound. so have no idea who it was.

Same! Didn't leave a message or anything either so no idea who it is.

I had this number call me today. My phone wasn't with me and yeah, tried to give it a ring back, but it disconnected every time. =\

I've been receiving the calls for the past week or so. They're not leaving any messages.

I just answered too. It's the Red Cross looking for donations.

I have had this number try and call a couple of times in last few weeks. Same as everyone else - never leaves a message.

Same as Tim, it's the Red Cross doing their donation hunt.

It's the Red Cross seeking donation. If you don't answer, you won't receive a message, but they will keep trying. If you call back, they won't answer. If you answer, they will tell you some sad story and make you feel guilty if you don't donate. So up to you what to do next time you see this number. :-)

Cheers for the answers guys, I got the same, missed call but unable to call back.  It might not only be a donation hunt, though, I already currently donate monthly and they've called before to do a check-up of how I was treated/customer service survey for the chick who I talked to in the supermarket that signed me up.  So I guess its their outgoing calls only number.

i`ve just tried to call back the same number, after they called me apparently 7 times. it`s a computerised message for " 2 evol".... who ever the heck they are.every time i ring to hopefully catch someone on the ther end, their always unable to come to the phone.

this number is the Red Cross. they have bwen calling me for about a month now. i have told them that NO i dont want to increase my donation and NO im not giving you my bank account details again. i have ended up saying that i am cancelling my excisting donation as i am getting harassed.

Confirm with Tanya. It's actually a company called '2evolve' who are making telemarketing calls on behalf of the Red Cross.
I'm sure the Red Cross would love to know that people are actually deleting accounts resulting from the harrasement of their contractor.

I have contacted 2evolve and they have told me that this number does not belong to them

Now 2evolve is calling from Oxfam

It is Oxfam now. They use a company to provide infrastructure for a call centre, so it can vary amongst different charities.  Everyone wins when we donate to a charity, don't dismiss all of them.
