I too got a call from that number 20-03-08. It would be unusaul for the "police" in NSW to call northern qld.

02-8088 1400: Another scam call. Is there no shame?

Missed a couple of calls from this number, checked the Who Calls Me website and found the scam info.  My home phone is not listed.

Saw missed call from this number 02 8088 1400. Rang back. No answer. They rang back again and I answered, and got the same scam as above. I've lodged a complaint with the "do not call" government register, so hopefully they'll be traced and action taken

I have had repeated calls during business hours from this number. I have not yet answered but thanks to all, for the tips. I have also lodged a complaint with the "do not call" government register.

Missed call, no message from this number. Called 6:53pm AEST. Yet another scam eh, have they no shame?

I just got a phone call from this number.  They claimed to be with the RSPCA & asked me if I had any pets, how many & what type.  At this stage I told him 2 rottweilers that liked human blood & hung up.

Got a call from this number after 5pm.. I dont know anyone in NSW (I'm in QLD) so I didnt answer it...I guessed it was a scam call.

Calls multiple times every weekday, never leaves a message if the answering machine picks up always hangs up, just silence if i pick up, then hangs up a few seconds later.
One time automated sounding message saying i had to urgently ring them and gave a receipt number, but no company name or details.
It's happening so often it's really making us angry.

Have had this 0280881400 phone me litterally dozens of times over the past months and most recently this morning.  No message left.  This is really starting to annoy the hell out of me.  Who are these people.  Others said they are a scam - what kind of scam?

Have had several phone calls during the day but they hang up everytime I answer. What are they trying to achieve? I'm a shiftworker and wake up everytime the phone rings. I feel like heading to NSW and finding who is responsible, so I can jam their phone somewhere that would make it very difficult for them to ring anyone again.

Got a call from this number this afternoon.  A guy asked for my wife, who has recently left me.  When I told him this and I offered him another number on which he could call her he laughed and refused, then hung up.  I'm in Queensland, too

Missed call from this number on 30 May at 5.23 p.m. No message left. I am in Qld as well. I have an unlisted number and am register with 'do not call'.
What gives?

This caller rings two or three times a day, every day. They never leave a message (with words anyway - there has been a few a seconds of a very noisy babbling background). I have a private/unlisted number, and am in Brisbane QLD AU. I really don't see what the point is - surely there must be some kind of law against this kind of harassment?

I have no idea who this number is, but I refuse to answer phone numbers that I do not know.  I just ignored this phone number this very moment.  I'm in Queensland.  I don't see why anyone in NSW needs to call QLD.

My landline diverts to my mobile after a couple of rings, and I find this a good  way of filtering genuine calls from the rest.  Usually junk callers hang up when they get to the diversion, but this one actually rang once on my mobile before hanging up.  No message left. (Naturally, by the looks of it.)

I work from home and have had a GUT full.
I called the number back and received an automated message...something like
You have called a charity raffle hotline on behalf of one of our charities.
