- Shirley| 1 replyI have no idea who this call is from. It appears regularly and hangs up at 5 rings.
- Tom replies to ShirleyJust had a call from that number myself - person hung up before I could answer.
- appleI donot like this call. I am not sure that how the commpany know my number
- Craig| 1 replyWhat ever you do, do not give to these animals.
My 67 year old mother often gave $20.00 to the
PCYC as she felt good that it was helping troubled children.
Every second month or so, she liked to give to a few charities,
but these days is getting a little forgetful when it comes
to her money and budget. My wife and I were beside ourselves
last month when we found mum to be with not any food in the house.
Somehow, the person from this number PCYC, got $200.00 out
of mum, who Is on a single pension. These people are nothing more
than common criminals. How on earth could they think that she could
give such an amount, when for years she always gave $20.00. My wife
has since taken this to our local member of parliament, as the money
was taken from mums debit card. Be warned. - BellaI've had this number call me several times. I've been ignorning it, as I assumed it was just telemarketing. However, today I got curious and decided to answer. When I picked up, there was a busy signal on the other end? They must have hung up just as I answered. Craig's story about his mum and the $200 is absolutely disgusting. I hope the local MP can do something. They should absolutely reimburse her and also not contact her again in the future for donations.
- Caller: PCYC

- ChristieJust recieved a call from this number, they hung (as other people have stated), as usual I called back and got the PCYC answering machine (how got my number is beyond me as we are not even listed!) I left my name and number and stated that they had hung up as soon as I answered and asked for a call back.
A lot of companies do this in the hopes that you will call them back and the don't have to pay for the call charges! Will post more when I get to the bottom of it.- Caller: PCYC?
- gail| 1 replyI don't answer phone calls from numbers I don't know but i was expecting a call from my Dr so answered tis one and as stated by others NOTHING, am registered with "do not call" but they, the scammers do slip by, would like to know how they got my number???
- Caller: telstra
- Ken replies to gailThanks Gail.
We got a call at 7PM this evening from that number and we too are on a do not call register.
I think Telstra got burnt a few years ago selling those lists to the scammers.
Now days I let it ring through to our answering machine to screen calls like this.
If it's a recognisable voice after 6-7 rings such as a relative, I pickup.
Also *10# helps if your a Telstra customer as well. - LenniThis number calls continuously and hangs up half the time. The other time they identify them selves as the PCYC
- Caller: PCYC
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- Bellamy Rogers| 1 replyCalled last night (8pm) by some character saying he was from the Police Youth Club, told him my number was on a do not call register, he started to waffle on about how they were exempt because they were a charity, I told him he'd be a charity if he called my number again.
I wonder if the NSW Police Force approves of this sort approach from people trying to get donations.- Call type: Non-profit organization
- cheryl k| 2 repliesOn the 21st of Feb 2012 at 2.50pm I had a suspicious phone call from 02-80884050(I have a silent number).A man introduced himself as a police sargent from the PCYC selling tickets for a fund raiser for this service,he tried very hard to get my bank details and have me do a verbal contract that i would purchase $30 worth of tickets being for 10 tickets,I told him i was not interested.SCAMMER.
- Caller: PCYC??????

- cheryl k replies to cheryl k| 1 replyI just rang my local police station and reported this piece of scum,THE POLICE WILL NOT RING YOU FOR DONATIONS.The only way to stop this is to report it to your local police station,if you have given him your bank details phone your bank immediatly and stop your card.
- cheryl k replies to Bellamy RogersThis is a SCAMMER,not the police department.
- Victoria MI've just received a call from these idiots - thank goodness for the internet so we can google numbers!! Does any one know how they get our numbers??

Direct Line: 1300 365 896 Fax: 1300 733 121 - Guggi replies to cheryl kIt's not the Police ringing you, it's the PCYC, who are a youth organisation run by the Police. They are a legitimate charity and are exempt from Do Not Call Register rules as they are a charity, as are all charities. They have to raise money somehow and this is how they do it. I came onto this website today because I wondered what the number was also (given I've had many missed calls over the past 2 weeks).
My suggestion? Ring them direct (not on the number they ring on) and ask to be removed from their phone list. I did this with The House With No Steps about a month ago and no more calls since. It works!!
Failing that, pay your phone company the $6.00 a month for Caller ID and then ignore the call when it comes through (as you'll recognise the number). It's the only solution we have, as all charities are exempt from the Do Not Call Register rules and are free to call us as often as they like.
I hope this helps people? - Guggi replies to Elle-May| 1 replyHi everone
I just contacted the phone number that Elle-May suggests and spoke with Tom, who was lovely. He told me which charities I was listed to be contacted from (all of these are charities I have donated to previously and 2 of them I still donate to monthly). The reason for this is that Insight do exactly as Elle-May says and they phone people on behalf of various charities.
My new suggestion is to ring the number Elle-May suggests and politely ask them to remove you from their phone list and that they remove you from ALL charities you are attached to.
As Tom pointed out to me, they aren't there to hound you or upset you, they are simply doing a job like everyone else (and for much needed funds for people less fortunate than most of us - and how do they know who is and who isn't?).
Have some patience and kindness people and it returns to you ten-fold.
I hope I've alleviated some angst for people now?
Take care all. Best wishes.
Guggi - GrannyMy phone rings regularly from this no. It rings five times and hangs up. Then two minutes later it rings again.
- No Money From Me replies to Elle-MayIt's very simple, Insight calls on behalf of many charities, just look at their website
www.insightcfs.com.au
Even though they won't tell you this, or their charity clients, when you donate money to one of their charities, they will sometime down the line take your details and call you for their other charities.
It's not really great, and it's illegal. Especially when charities realize you are being now mass marketed to their other causes, and you risk being a lost customer to the first charity you supported because you are now fed up with all these calls coming to you for all different charities, pretty much all the Insight ones.
70 cents in each dollar you give to this company goes to the company.
The so called hangup's you people are are the sub standard predictive dallier they use. There are two reasons you are being hung up on.
1. because the agent is lazy, does not want to speak so hangs up soon as the call comes through.
2. because they use a very poor CRM system which they cannot control because it's a UK based CRM system that has been Gerry rigged into a telemarketing system used here.
They don't even understand what goes on in the background, thus some of your hangups are technical errors of the dailler.
When you get a call from these people, simply tell them you want your number removed totally off their system, you don't want your number called by any of their charities.
If your lucky, you will not have some drugged out low IQ agent mess up these instructions and hopefully never get a call from them again.
Charities can do better than this company when it comes to making money. Insight is, and will always be a greedy company.
Find them on facebook or twitter. Also visit the website as see the people who run this company.
