It is a telemarketing trick.People's curiosity gets the better of them and they call the missed call number displayed. You are then answered by an IVR.
Best solution is not to call back numbers you don't recognise. If it's important they wouldn't hang up. In effect they are making you pay for a telemarketing call.

This number keeps calling me once a week and so sick of it. Glad for this site - now I know!

Thank goodness for this site! This number has been stalking me for the past 3 weeks and somehow I always have missed their call. They have never left a voice message and the one time I managed to pick up I was hung up on straight away! How can telemarketer's get away with it? surely this can't be legal. Seriously, I am being called everyday. Will they not give up until I call back? Will it be a local call cost cos I am tempted to ring and give a piece of my mind...

I have been called multiple times by this number with no message left.  Curiosity got the better of and I called it back - it is Avon Marketing Services.

rrrrrr! Everyday for past 2 weeks! im over it! I now have saved number as "IGNORE" and hopfully it passes.

everyday for a month now they will call. it's annoying and I'd like to know why/how they have my number. Pestering isn't the best marketing ploy.

It's yuck! They call me several times per day since two weeks ago and never say anything. How can they get people's number?

This number is calling me on my work phone...3 times yesterday and once so far today!! Surely its not legal??

I called this number back after receiving call then hang up day after day. Theres a message that says "you have been called by Avon Group Marketing Services, blah blah, if you need more information call 1300 305 515"

I rang that number and was on hold for 3 minutes then finally got through to a human being. I asked to speak to a supervisor (being that i work in a call centre myself and if you really need to speak to someone who knows a lot more than some chump, thats the way to go) but the guy asked what it was about and i said i wanted to remove my number from the list they were using to call m everyday. He said its to do with insurance from Commonwealth Bank, St George and some other company. He was fine with it and took down my number and said it would be removed in the next 24 hours. Kept a record of his name, so if another call comes through i'll be hunting him down when i call back again!

This number has been harrassing me for the past month, today they have called me every hour from 10:30am-6:30pm. I know that this company is trying to sell me life insurance as I have talked to a real person from this number once, I politely declined and hung up but that was 3 weeks ago. I want to report this number to stop these annoying nuisance calls because this definitely does not seem legal anyone know how to go about it?
