missed calls a couple of time. then answered today. they called on behalf of commonwealthbank and said life/accident insurance. asking DOB and other pernal detials so i didn't answered their questions then they hanged up

I had a few missed calls the other day, I answered one the other day and they hung up straight away... but then just got another call saying it was commonwealth bank, selling life insurance, same as other people got...


Why is telemarketing australia saying 'you asked for it'?

Iv been getting one everyday you answer they hang up I called them, back and message bank said it was Avon or something lol

I've also been recieving calls from this number over the past four weeks, usually every few days with between 1-3 calls per day. I haven't yet answered the phone when I see this number as these type of (business) phone numbers are usually some company trying to sell you something and waste your time. It would make sense that it's the Comm Bank as I recieved some junk mail about Home/Life Insurance a few weeks ago.

is everybody here with telstra coz i've just signed up with them a week ago and i'm getting these phone calls maybe they're makin money off of our details or the dodgey overseas workers they employ are misusing our information!!!

luckyly when this stpd number call i always missed it. i think this is a scam..beware guys

Why did we ask to be woken up and threatened with life insurance telemarketing Australia?

I've been getting the same calls for the past few weeks, a few times a day. Never have the chance to answer the phone because I'm usually at work. Judging by the comments here, that's probably a good thing.

I'm with Vodafone so it's not just Telstra. I used to get called once week, then once a day, now it's a few times every day. They used to call me a few months ago and I ended up buying the damn insurance and unregistering the second I could. I think the common link would be that we're all with the commonwealth bank. Telemarking Australia, none of us asked for this. If we wanted insurance, then we would go out ourselves and register for insurance. Basically if you do answer the call, don't answer any of their questions or confirm your name, dob or address. The call is recorded and they'll claim that by confirming their questions that's you signing a verbal contract. Also calling them back just goes straight to voicemail and they'll have your number recorded so they can return your call.

It's flippin annoying. Calls come 3 times per day. I have the number saved as a contact in my phone now, so just dont answer it. wish they would just take a hike.

I'm with 3 and I've had 2  calls from then on Fridays two weeks in a row, didn't answer them though.. One left a message but it was just te sound of rummaging and no one talking :/
