This number called me and 3 others looking for my wife but asking for her mayden name

I have repeated calls from this number.When I try to ring back I get a message saying"Your call cannnot be connected".Sick to death of these calls.

Caller hangs up as soon as you answer the phone,

heard a women's voice saying hello but couldn't communicate with her

This number rang on my calling-number display phone yesterday, but I did not answer and there was no message left.  Today it rang again.  I answered and I heard the disconnect click, so don't know what they wanted.  My email in case you want it is neagle1933@bigpond.com,

I too tried to call back after missing the call and it just says "your call could not be connected" soooo annoying.

I called it back, and it said "You have donated to a charity, thankyou and goodbye". I was like wtf?

I have the exact same problem. It's a man and asks for my wife but using her maiden name and before I could ask who it was he hung up. Very annoying.

I have calls from 0288233045 2 to 3 times per day, when I call this number back it diverts to a call centre message belonging to kids cancer research.  No other name is mentioned and I'm unable to confirm there business name or address.  I believe this is a fraud caller.
 

Do what I do. I have a new Panasonic phone which blocks those calls. I now have 40 on the blocked list.

Calls from this number on regular basis. No answer. Very annoying.

Got a call from this number this morning on the mobile, no more than 10 minutes ago, only to be met with nothing from the other end.

Assume it was the same number calling yesterday when the landline phone rang, waking me up, rushing to put clothes on, only for the f+ckers to hang up on me.

We are on the DNC register, but they still ring.

This number is harassing me. There should be a law against it.

There is a law against this sort of thing. Call the federal police as it spans multiple states and register a complaint with your telco, providing the number.

This number phones my home regularly even through I am registered not to be called. When I answer it hangs up.  It is very much a nuisance as I have difficulty getting to the phone.  Shorely something can be done about these harassing calls.

You cant get the DNC register to stop them, as they hide behind the "charity" banner ~ thus are exclude from any DNC register ... but you can still send the details to the DNC people and they will look into it.

These 'charity' callers are annoying idiots 8823 3045 and should be shut down by the Govt and blocked by carriers!

Had calls from these people too, so annoying, I think the way it works is that they have an automated dialler that calls a batch of numbers (lets say 10, or 100) and as soon as one of them answers, ie the first connection, all the other calls are dropped so you get this hang up on you. They are so annoying as the elderly parents have to make an effort to reach the phone, the government has to regulate this nuisance, what are the people in charge of scamers/annoyance calls and privacy doing about this.
