Caller hungup after I answered and said hello. Tried calling back only to get a recorded message saying "I was called from a hosted contact centre and you maybe contacted again".

Let call go to VM and they hang up.

They (it) called again, it was a missed call.

I missed the call?? Didnt call back

I continue to get missed calls from this number as I won't answer it and they hang up when it hits voicemail

Same thing happened to me, 02-8917-0000 shows up on the caller ID, and after I answer there is silence on the other end. What is going on?

This is just an idea, but I reckon its a call centre with an automated dialer. It's dialing numbers in a sequential order and determining whether there is an answer or a 'voice' at the other end. If there is, this goes into a database and you've unknowingly confirmed that there is someone on that line, at that time.

Just an idea though.

Same here but I have had it call me many times on my mobile and at work!
I am blocking it on my mobile so I don't hear it when the buggers ring.

I got a call from this number and answered. It was a telemarketer doing a promotion for my motor insurance company (NRMA)

they have called me everyday for the past week
but mine calls have been from an actual person.

Same thing happened to me around 9am this morning!

We are also receiving repeated phone calls from this number. They do not talk or leave any messages.

Unwanted calls from telemarketers.

Two calls this week during the day.  I let it go to VM.  They dont leave a message.

Two missed calls.  No message left.

they called me about a debt i had a while ago
