thaey said they are from the free government assessment and they wanted my phone number,my address and my name and they gave me an appointment to come to my house

Same deal.  The moment I asked why they were calling from oversease they hung up.  I smell scammers of some sort.

Received the same call from an indian accent but this time some electricity offer??


Hung up when I asked who they were and how they got the number as we are on the do not call register in australia?

Reported to the gov't agency who can charge them a hefty fine if guilty.

Received a call from 02 9037 0621. There was silence for a full minute before a female voice said "hello." I immediately said, "Wow, it took a whole minute for you to say something," and she hung up immediately.
