Dont answer these calls or any starting with 02920. One day it will be this number, the next slightly different. All very dodgy. Its just a pain having to constantly screen and reject calls. They will try and sell you a mobile contract and maybe charge you credit for the privilege.
I think this number is a firm called Communications Direct. I had a call from a similar number yesterday and the day before so did a search and found the following -
"Communications Direct - 02920 368700 - 02920368700
Beware if you receive a call on your mobile phone from the above number. The caller will not know your name or anything about you but they will trick you by saying they are calling about your O2/Orange/3/Vodafone/T-mobile contract. Most people assume because they know which network they are on that it’s a legitimate call, they will try and offer you an upgrade, but what they are really doing is signing you up for a new 12 month contract. They are using the prefix of your mobile number to guess your network, historically numbers from the same network have the same prefix i.e. 07736 = O2. The only time that they’ll get this wrong is if your have ported your number from one network to another. If you take the bait they’ll ask for you bank details and set up a direct debit, if you have been unfortunate enough to fall for this contact your bank and stop the direct debit. If you received the phone you are within your rights to cancel the contract within 14 day cooling off period under the distance selling regulations."
Man am I glad to have found this website! I was abroad and got around 20 calls from this this number during my stay, got paranoid thinking it could be the bank/credit card company and I was in trouble as the phone kept ringing.
Googled it once I had the chance and saw all your comments. Now I'm just waiting for them to call me again so that I can tell them to F-off.
Got a call from 02920 number yesterday for the first time, and got another from 02920 with slightly different following number this afternoon. I ignored both occasions.
I recently ported my number from T-Mobile to my new provider. Thanx, Steve, at least I know why they call me. I just hope they will give and stop soon.
Called me three times in the last three days. I havent answered any of them, they never leave a message. I have also had calls from similar numbers recently too. Anyone know who they are??
I had a call from 02920 359001 today for the first time on my t-mobile phone. I tried ringing back as I was on the landline, so rejected the call, but when I called back it was constantly engaged. I called from my landline and tried to do ringback but it would not allow it to this number.
My mobile contract is no where near ending, so I don't know why they would be trying to reach me?
Glad I found this site, although I am curious as to what they say!!
Hey, I have just received a call from this number, but I didn't answer, after I called to say that I have a missed call from this number but the number is bussy
Just had a missed call from this number, glad i googled it and found this site. Really annoyed with tmobile if they have sold my details on to this dodgy company. I'll be giving them a piece of my mind when i ring to tell them i'm not renewing my contract with them. If doing this affects who their customers choose to remain with they might think twice!
Hi, got this number today as well (02920359001). It keeps ringing. I have a fair idea that it is Vodaphone Customer Services, as I have recently signed up to them and thats when the calls started coming. Hope this helps people.
THESE PEOPLE ARE FROM A COMPANY CALLED ''COMMS DIRECT'' WHICH IS THE SPONSOR OF CARDIFF CITY FC. THE NUMBERS WHICH HAVE CALLED ME ARE 02920240069 02920368797(THIS ONE ABOUT 10 TIMES) 02920822797 02920359001 ALL IN A WEEK!
Telemarketers can be very annoying and I truly hate having to have to deal with them. The best thing one can say to them without being offensive is...
"I AM NOT INTERESTED AND PLEASE DON'T CALL ME AGAIN, THANK YOU AND GOOD-BYE."
And then hang-up the phone, or close the door on them, if they are a door-to-door salesperson. In fact, practice saying it for the next time you need to say it.
This way you get to stay in control of the situation, and you are not offending anyone. Most importantly, you will feel better for it, and the telemarketer or door-to-door salesperson will be able to go on to the next.
Most people are not aware that telecommunications companies are regulated by the federal government, and the telecommunications companies are required by legislation to release their files to other interested parties. So don't be upset with your telecommunications provider, be upset with the government for bad laws and legislaton.
Unfortunately for the telecommunications companies, being due to legislation, their hands are tied, and they are not permitted to post their defense on sites such as this as it would be considered anti-competitive by their rivals.
I know this as I am a former telephone company employee. I worked for a major telecommunications company for over 21 years.
I too have had not one but two calls from this number which is very annoying seens as I am currently seeking employment and am waiting on calls from prospective employers. The number has a Cardiff code and have contacted employers from that area about prospective work. How infuriating!!!
I keep getting calls from this number glad i'm not the only one, I have only just taken out the contract on my mobile and am not on any call list so I will contact my mobile provider and see if they can bar this number has anyone found out what company this is?
Iv been getting repeated calls from this number, wiv only ever answered once and when i did they were trying to get my bank details, they said they were from my mobile company but couldnt tell me my tarrif or what mobile company i was actually with this is definitely a scam, how do i block them from calling??
T-Mobile has a free call blocking feature. Just call them at 1-800-937-8997 and get customer serivce. Give them the number and they can drop the caller....
