Just to clarify it is this number that rings me (amongst others) and the guy was trying to guess who my provider was.  I put the phone down and walked off.....it's a good way of getting them off the line without winding yourself up...you can come back knowing they will have continued talking for a few minutes before the light dawns that nobody is there!

I received one of these calls on 23 January.  I'm with Voda and finished my contract some time ago.  I did answer it, and found the person who was trying to flog me a new phone (on 3 contract) quite rude.  I hung up on him

Wow -- got a missed call from 02920368797-- on my T-mobile PAYG phone. Just out of curiosity I googled the number -- and came across this 'thread'. Very interesting reading but time wise I'd probably been better off answering the unwanted call in the first place!! Great to know that other people also get these calls and also have the time to write about them on the web!!!!

My daughter has received numerous calls from this and similar numbers.  she is on a new T-Mobile pay as you go service.

Register your number with Telephone Preference Services - it's free and only takes a few minutes.  Registering should stop these calls from coming through in the future. Resgister your landline as well to stop double glazing sales calls at meal times.  http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/

On T-mobile but only 4 months in to a renewed 18 month contract. Didn't recognise number so rejected it.

Beware if you receive a call on your mobile phone from the above number.  The caller will not know your name or anything about you but they will trick you by saying they are calling about your O2/Orange/3/Vodafone/T-mobile contract.  Most people assume because they know which network they are on that it’s a legitimate call, they will try and offer you an upgrade, but what they are really doing is signing you up for a new 12 month contract. They are using the prefix of your mobile number to guess your network, historically numbers from the same network have the same prefix i.e. 07736 = O2.  The only time that they’ll get this wrong is if your have ported your number from one network to another.  If you take the bait they’ll ask for you bank details and set up a direct debit, if you have been unfortunate enough to fall for this contact your bank and stop the direct debit.  If you received the phone you are within your rights to cancel the contract within 14 day cooling off period under the distance selling regulations.

Have had calls from this number frequently over the past few weeks. Am near Cardiff so thought it may have been someone I know so decided to google and found this.

nope its not just t mobile im on orange and i got a miss call from them!!!!!

This number has just called me, i have no intention of answering it.  I am a t-mobile customervand only just begun my second year contract with them.

I have just missed a call from that number. I called it back, no one answered. They have rung me before but I just ignored it. I'm on T-mobile, but not on a contract (Im on pay as you go). Very confusing. But I'm not answering, and won't in future.

I'm with t-mobile, contract ending soon and I've had numerous phone calls from this number lately.  

I don't answer numbers I don't recognize so haven't spoken to them, but it is soooooo annoying having them calling all the time.
They are going into my phone book under the name 'phising scam' now after reading this, that suits them and will help me recognize them when they call.
Oh, and did I mention that I won't answer next time either??

Just got a missed call from this number, and seeing as I live in Cardiff, I thought it was probably someone I knew.  Thanks everyone for pointing out what it really was.

I'm 4 months into a 12 month Orange contract.

On t-mobile, they call me every day about three times. so bloody annoying!

received a missed call from this number on 26 Feb

I'm also at the end of a t-mobile contract and this number has started calling me regularly. I'm fed up with never having a signal with t-mobile so I might quit anyway!

I have come across allot of comments on this site and felt compelled to write a message. Communications direct are a legit company. They called me on a wednesday to which i answered there call, they where very polite in dealing with me tellin me what they were offering and if i felt i wanted to take up a deal with them. I even phoned back as had to think about it, and did get through on the number. I was then run through there policy on numerous occasions makin sure i understood. I have now cancelled my t-mobile contract and recieved my brand new phone on a better deal two days after as promised. So please i emphasis there is nothing dodgy about this company. They are just like any other company yes they may call allot but doesn't space kitchens and they are legal.

I had some twit phoneed me twice and first time hung up on me like some kind of pervert and 2nd time asked me questions about t-mobile (how odd as i'm on 02...).
SOLUTION: I just called back and asked them to remove my name n number from their database and they were really good about it.
Just phone back the number and ask
