I was away from my desk when this call came through. Just googled the number and found out it was a scam so glad I didn't!

This is strange...I didn't answer as I have slight anxiety/phobia of answering phones, especially to anyone I don't know.
However I txted them back...and then when I found this, I was like...uh oh..by txting I might have lost my £4 credit...
However upon checking I now have £8.60 credit...which I guarantee, I never had before!
What the hell is that about?!

Ok...now its saying my proper credit balance again.
Odd.

They have called me 5 times in the last 2 days, I haven't answered any of them thank God as I never do when don't recognise the number. I'm on Orange too.

Got call on my mobile from this number at 4:30pm today. Was on the toilet so missed the call. I'm with O2. I've googled it because I've never even seen a phone number with this prefix, so immediately I was wondering who on Earth it was and how they got my number. I've had to do that before to find out about a Durham number that was calling me. I never found out who the Durham people were, but reading through these comments, it looks like this number is a dodgy company called Communications Direct.
I've no idea how these people got my number.

Turns out that companies like this are actually employed by rival service providers to steal customers.

I just got a call from this number too. What really annoys me is how did they get my number in the first place? Do they only call mobiles? What network is everyone on that gets these calls. I'm on Orange.

Got called 10mins ago. I'm in Glasgow, on Orange pay-as-you-go.

Just received a call from this number and so googled it and found this site.  The "very nervous" guy on the other end of the phone told me he was calling about the "personal services" ad that I had supposed to have placed in a newspaper. I hung up as I thought someone was obviously either a scam or friends messing about.

Forgot to mention I am on a Vodafone Pay Monthly Staff Account and work for Vodafone so it is not limited to one network.

Dave - that's weird, and the first comment on this site that suggests the company are truly reportable.  I would email them about this.  It's one thing to be a company calling to try and steal business, and another to be a company making unnerving prank calls.  If I'd got a call from a number I didn't recognise saying I'd placed a personal services ad in the newspaper - and hadn't had the presence of mind to google the number and find this site - I'd be absolutely terrified.

Also, I called the police and reported the incident, and got a crime reference number which means that if they keep calling and I end up needing to change my mobile phone number, I can quote the reference to my service provider and they'll send me a new sim for free.  This is worth doing if the calls are upsetting anyone.

Caller said that they wanted to ask me about my mobile.  I asked who they were and they said Communications Direct.  I told them that my number was registered with TPS and they were not allowed to call on this number, they apologised and said that they must have the wrong number.  Probably a load of rubbish and mine was just the next number to call on their list!

Got a call from these guys at the same time for the last two days. From the looks of it, I should probably ignore it...

Argh, im so angry! Is anyone else on orange as alot of these lead back to them? They keep giving away our number and i keep getting stupid charges. This number has called me 6 times the past 2 days, luckily ive been teaching the times they've rung and not answered.

I got a call from them at 2pm today but was in work so I didnt see the missed call until a while after. Im also on orange but Ive never had a call like this before. I live near cardiff (which is the area code) so didnt think much of it but googled it anyway and Im glad I did if there is a chance its dodgy!

I had the number call me too...didnt answer and after seeing some of the above comments regarding this I will not answer it either.

I also received a missed call from this number and it is not the first time. There must be something that can be done about this.
