i have had my phone for 9 months i have never had a miss call off these people i dont even know who they are i dont know why they have tried to ring me

i dont know how these people get our numbers i have never used that number in my whole in tire life

they've just rung me, and I've just gone and registered with the TPS.  This is the 5th such call I've had this week from a 029 no.

I've had 2 calls today, one around 9 and just now at about 4ish.
its the second day they've done this and im going to pick up the phone next time. im a 17y/o on a pay as you go, will inform them that if they don't stop i'll call the police and have them done for harrassment to a minor (technically still a minor till 18)

Both 02920822640  and 02920822637 are nuisance calls (or mobile spam!)Thers quite a few out there these are just two that pester me and its cross all networks with both Pay-as-you-go and Contract.....If you have your suspicions about calls or are receiving nuisance calls, simply don’t talk to them or reply to them. Use Voicemail to filter your calls - remember you are in control and can end contact when you want. If you continue to get nuisance calls or messages, call YOUR CELLPHONE PROVIDER immediately and log it with them. (i.e. # for vodafone is 191)...Ensure that the call or message that you want logged is the last contact you received.
Record the evidence of all unwanted communication. Keep a diary – dates and times; type of communication. It also helps if you save any messages or voicemails, as these will be evidence when you contact the police. When you have about 5 events logged contact the police to get a crime reference number. The police will then contact the Police Liaison unit of your cellphone provider, who will take any appropriate action. Best of luck

In answer as to how they they got your cell number? ....A simple number gerenator programe auto dials until a "connect" signal (or ring)is returned its loged then it adds it to its database of "live" numbers these numbers will be used by the  'company' to pester you using several IDs and also the database will be sold onto other phonesales companies and so on and so on. Also note "The thelephone preference service" only works for so long against some numbers

Actually, mobile companies are given a block of phone numbers that they can put onto their sim cards by some telephone authority - obviously you don't want two mobile companies to use the same mobile numbers. Companies like Communications Direct etc are able to find out what range of numbers have been handed out to which different mobile companies and they know what numbers are technically valid - giving this information out isn't actually against the data protection act since they aren't given information as to who actually owns each number etc, merely a list of theoretically actice numbers. That is why if you answer the call, they will know what network you are on, but not if you are contract or pay as you talk.

My guess is that all the people who have posted in the last month all have similiar phone numbers. Since the cold callers know when the numbers were given to the mobile service providers, they can make an educated guess that the people they are calling started using their SIM at around about that time last year (since they were the numbers only recently given out and are probably being sold). Since they can work that out, the logic reasoning is that those on contracts will be having their annual contracts up for renewal soon....

They call me every day too. I am sick of it. Cannot someone stop thes unsolicited callers. It is criminal attacking lonely, diasbled and poor people especially.

The best way to stop these sellers from calling is tell them you'd love to take up whatever they are selling and then no doubt they will ask for your bank or credit card account. To which say that you don't have them as you are BANKRUPT!It works for us and they don't call back.

They phoned me today
I told the guy:
Im on the TPS i should not be getting calls of this nature
He said numbers are screened against TPS
asked me for the confirmation code
I told him i dont have it with me
he said he would remove me!

Just had a phone call to my mobile today from this company, asking if i was still on pay as you go mobile. Told them no i was on contract so they then tried to get me to sign up a contract with them, told them no, then they tried to find out who i was with and when my contract ran out.Told them that was my business and not to bother me again. I also asked where they got my number from but they would not tell me. The company is called "Communications Direct"

I keep having this number call my mobile, i am on pay as you go, i never answer because i am fed up of telling companyies that i am pay as you go and never will be interested in a contract phone

this no. said they were a credit company today and ringing re debt!!!

I got a phone call from this number asking if i was on pay as you go, when i said yes i am, they immediately offered a brand new phone with cheaper phone calls and free texts :S

believe it or not they can save u money and get u a better deal on a contract phone!

Don't answer it 'cos I don't know who it is and I CANNOT STAND telesales!! How did they get my number?

The phone rang-I answered -heard a muffled voice but they didn't answer -it cut out. have no idea who it was from . Haven't rang backin case it costs me lots of money.

Been calling me every day - extremely tedious! have previous spoke to them and asked them to leave me alone as if i want to start a new contract i will look for one myself!
personally, i feel sorry for the people who have to do the calling...

I too was getting daily calls from 02920822640, 02920368760, 02920359001 etc and traced it to commun9ications Direct via this web site. I found their contact details through google and telephoned them to complain on 0870 950 0785. I was given an apology and assured my number would be reoved from their call list with 24 hours.
