Like everyone here, I too received numerous calls from this KL-based 03-7882.4348 number. It is very annoying. Usually the calls are made early in the morning. Upon pick up, there's a quick but strange data tone, before the line got cut off.

There are those who believe that someone is actually attempting to steal your line, to make overseas call. Please check whether your next phone bill recorded any unknown or long-distance calls, and if so, do notify the relevant authorities immediately.

The best way to handle it, however, is NOT TO PICK UP the phone. I've placed a caller ID on this number and ignored any subsequent calls from it. Eventually, it went away.
