I called it back and got a message and put on hold. Didn't say who it was.

They phoned me last night at 11:00pm, it is from a company marketing mobile phone plans. They start with a survey, then get to the real reason for the call.

They Called me tonight at about 7.35
I missed the call and rang them back. A woman answered and just said "hello" a few times without identifying herself, I hung up.

The same thing happened to me.
I told him 4 times that I wasn't interested, then I had to hang up on him as he wasn't listening.

Also received a call from this number, didn't answer it because I didn't recognise the number and they didn't leave a message. GLad I didn't

Got a call from them earlier today. I picked up and they just hung up on me.

I was called about 5 minutes ago. Said they were from optus and said that the last 4 digits of my number were elligible for a free apple ipad or a samsung galaxy obviously BS since i'm not with optus. I put the phone on loud speaker and played rick astley's never gonna give you up :D

This is the third time I got call from this number. Each time I pick up no one answers.

Received another call from 03 81998010 (Australia) today 1:50pm. This is not the first time. If I have no record of a number I don't answer. Any ideas who this is?

Got a call at 1.50pm but couldn't take it, glad I didn't pick up.

DODGY - these people are too cheap to even ring and talk to you. They ring and hang up so you call them back, then they say its either for a survey or you have won a prize before finally trying to sell you a mobile phone account. Will not get off the phone. REAL DODGY

what the hell? I'm getting a call from then nearly every night for the past week but never picked up till just then. What is it?

omg this number has left a missed call on my phone 6 times in the last three weeks but I keep ignoring it.. When I called back lady said hello and Optus than I hanged up.. What do they want??

Same, I keep getting called as well. They use an automatic dialler which means its a computer calling you and when you answer it should go through to a person to take the call. Same thing happens when you call back, if you get through it may sound like a real person but its a recording that will keep you going until a person is free to take your call. Trying to tell them to stop calling you will do little, best of registering with the 'Do Not Call Registry" - I just did it.

They just called me I missed the call when I tried to call them the number had been disconnected, they rang me the other day a guy answered by saying hello I said who are you he said he was from optus, I knew it was a scam straight away because if he was from optus he would of said welcome to optus how can I help you? I told him I wasn't interested in speaking to him as we are not even with optus. I don't know how he got my mobile number either as my number is private.

I called him back. He said "Hello".

I started with "You call me again and I'll kill you!"

That got his attention... then I told him to take me off his list. He replied "Name and for what reason?"

I said "Because you keep calling me and hanging up! If you want to talk to me, call me, and talk to me about something reasonable. I already know this is a scam. I'm forwarding this information onto the police".

He went quiet.

I think we should all just start calling them and giving them hell.

When I get email scams, I forward them to ALL my friends and together we sign up their email addresses to as many dodgey porn sites etc. as we can find. Not sure if it helps, but it sure makes us all feel pretty good! Haha.

Hope you all get some resolution on this. I've been getting these calls for months now.

I keep getting calls from them every couple of days, I've only answered the call once to see who it was as  I kept getting calls from this number. As soon as I answer and say hello, they hang up. I'm not even with Optus, I'm calling up my provider and barring them from calling because I'm sick of them calling!

They have called me 5 times each time I have said i was not interested in Optus. Also they do not know my name.
I have spoken to the supervisor and asked for then not to call back. They say there from Fillipines, I spoke to an Abbey last with employee no. 000 617 0712 dont know if its real or not but they are harrasing me with there calls that are alsways after 8pm.
If anyone can shut them down please do.

wow looks like i'm not the only one! yeah definitely a scam as she went on about a survey and then talking about ipads and samsung galaxy tab without introducing herself until i asked her which telco she is from.
She also talked about some 10 day cooling of period and wanting to get my details to secure the ipad/samsung tab as there was an offer for ipad3 ($48 no contract) and said that I can only get it off the phone. Obviously bs! when it's on optus website. How on earth did they get my number...

This number called today. They hung up, immediately i googled the number.

Thanks for the advice. Will hang up if they call again and won't return calls.
