i had about 8 missed calls from this number also on the 3rd March, 2010, but when i call it back, there is an american woman telling me how "important" my phone call is and i should wait for an operator, however it is never answered.

I have missed calls from this number too and the same an american woman says the call is important to them but it never gets answered.

I just answered one of these calls.  It was from Tru-Energy following up on a bill.  That being said it sounded like an outsourced company so I can't guarantee that it isn't an agency that works for multiple organisations.

talk about cheek .. first we get to deal with it being outsourced to India ... then they think its ok to do prank calls so that we will ring back... and now its an American voice... TRU Energy can get stuffed

I wouldn't be surprised if either Telstra or Optus have set up the number so you can call them back. It's always $$$ at the end of the day. They make money out of it :(

i answered a call from them today and they hung up on me so i been hanging up on them when i decide to answer i will be giving them a serve up for calling me after hours.

Well this number has started calling my phone, they let it ring three times and then hang up. I'm so sick of receiving calls from numbers I don't know or recognize that I no longer answer my phone unless the number is listed in my contacts.

Actually I think there's a law regarding incorrect use of a phone number, or at least there should be.

I've had several calls from this number and it doesn't matter wht time of day or night you return the call , it's the same message...I do have an account with Tru Energy , not sure if its overdue , but why call and leave no message , the phone company must mke a fortune from people trying to return these missed calls...

Ive just spoken with Tru ENergy who realyy couldnt give a fuk that this is happening. They claim will look into it and when I told them i will be invoicing them for my 20 minutes I spent on a STD phone call on hold they were not responsive

wankas ... this will continue to happen until someone stops overseas outsourcing and international call centres. Its a real shame we cant keep our own jobs in our own country ... Why thrown our money away to these wankas who have no idea what they are doing

just had a call from this number too. What a waste of money trying to ring them bak too! Im gona ring tru energy and submit a complaint...if they r realy wanting to get hold of people they should a) let the phone ring 4 longer than 3 rings, and b) answer their calls when u ring bak....scam artists!

I received three calls from this number today and answered one, they claiming to be TRUenergy. When I did not give my date of birth as requested the operator got very angry, I asked them to identify themselves to me, but they refused.

I have had my telephone number registered with Austrlian Government Do Not Call Register since it started.

I will be reporitng this incident to https://www.donotcall.gov.au/enqcomp.cfm the Austrlian Government Do Not Call Register.

I've been getting the same calls and hangups. I also rang them back and got the American Voice that never puts me through.
I rang Tru Energy's normal 13 number and they checked the 03-8256-0832 for me and said it is a credit reminder call.

I have had the same number several times...very annoying...I have placed called barring on that number on my mobile...

Sounds like some sort of scam. American lady saying thank you for returning our call, your call is important please hold the line.  Um No....so I hung up

they keep giving me missed calls, once i answered it and they said they were following up on an unpaid  bill, then i said i dont have an account with that company, then they stated an address for the bill, which wasnt even my address!!! i  asked them to stop calling as they had the wrong number, but they continue to call!!! im getting really angry....

Been receiving calls from this number claiming that i am in arrears on account. When questioning the lady the call is disconnected. I have contacted electricity/gas company and they have no knowledge of these calls and account is not in arrears. When calling back on this number i get a american accent advising that the call is important and the next operator will answer the call but nobody answers......

Missed a call from this number 3 times today, finally answered it at 8.46pm and a lady stating she was from TRU Energy was chasing an outstanding electricity bill which was overdue by 3 days. Very pushy and rude demanding a credit card number over the phone. Wont be answering that number again except with a [***] off!

if you have an existing business relationship with them (ie. you have a Tru Energy account) they are allowed to call you even if you are listed on the do not call register.. you'll do better complaining to the company directly or switching to a new provider.

Same deal as everyones else post - very annoying i am getting at least 4 calls a day from this number!!
