I have been getting MANY MANY telemarketing calls recently on my business line from 02 and 08 numbers. I am now getting calls from this 03 number. So far no info except for another site with people from Brisbane (as is me) getting calls from this number. Hopefully someone will be able to answer it and report who they are and we can take steps to stop the calls. Telemarketing calls are a particular problem for me because the numbers they call are business numbers which divert to my actual landlines and once answered by my answering machine (no msg left tho) it has cost me a call every time.

You'll NEVER guess... I got another call from this number just now and had the opportunity to answer it. It is the NAB (National Australia Bank) calling their existing customers to take part in a survey. I expressed my annoyances and demanded that my number be taken off their calling list. Their policy dictates that they cannot leave a message as they are an outgoing call centre only. I then asked that she pass my request on to their 'policy makers' to allow them to leave a short message stating who they were.

    We shall see!

Yeah, they only ring twice so it's not like you have time to answer it anyway

I noticed a number of missed calls from this number.  They rang again this evening and said they were National Australia Research and asked for me by name.  I don't think they are targeting NAB customers because I'm not one so I wouldn't be answering any of their questions.

They've been calling me for days and do the 3-4 rings and hangup.
I'm glad I found this place so I know who these people are.

    It's been a constant annoyance.

    It is NAB.
I have so many missed calls from this research/survey thing.
I have asked so many times to not be contacted, unfortunately I am a customer so I cannot be taken off this list.
Since August, I have received approx. 5 calls to the fortnight.
I have spoken to them once, so I am unsure why they would still be calling me now, in December.

I got the same thing this morning 2 and a half rings then hang up, a bit worrying I am a nab customer but never given them my home ph #, and it's a private # so I hope it's just a coincidence not some one trying to scab bank details. I'm in sa by the way!

Have had same problem with probably 10 or so calls since this morning, some closer, some further apart, and no message left. Having traced the number to this site and the word it being NAB, I wanted to call NAB first and ask if the number was associated with them. The operator couldn't trace it but said she wouldn't be able to anyway if it was on an automated call out system, but that it was most likely legit (and to only be wary if they start asking for details like birth date etc).

I'm going to answer it next time and tell them I'm not interested, so at least the calls will stop. Not very nice trying to sleep through a constantly ringing phone.

Had the same issue as many posters here from 03 83276500. It is The NAB's internal market research crew know as CISAC. If you call 1800 100 335 you will be able to speak to this department as i did & get them to remove you from the call list.

If you just tell them you dont want anymore calls they can permanently take you off the call list. They have your home and mobile numbers because its all in the NAB records. So just tell them to lose your number!

OK, now everyone!  All you need to do is tell them "take me off the list for any future research."  If you do this then they will. If you say "I don't want to do the survey" that means you will not be contacted for that particular project. That is why you would have received calls in August and in December. If you say "F**K off" that basically doesn't say that you don't want to be contacted for another survey ESPECIALLY if you haven't even given a name. There may be someone in the household who actually does want their opinion to count.

THEY'RE NOT TELEMARKETERS. YOU LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT SERVICE FROM NAB AND SAY NO ONE LISTENS TO YOU, YET WHEN SOMEONE IS ON THE PHONE AND READY TO TAKE YOUR FEEDBACK YOU TELL THEM TO F**CK OFF. Go figure

The "Do Not Call" register does not include genuine market research calls, only telemarketing and sales calls. It says this quite clearly on its website, and was emphasised during its rollout.

Since 0383276500 is a genuine market research department, they are still permitted to contact you to ask if you would like to take part in their research. However, if you just ask them to remove your number for research purposes, then they will and you will not be called back.

Simple. Just be nice about. The interviewer calling you has nothing to do with the bad day you may be having...

    Bluey.
Must be targetting the Melbourne Area. 12 Calls in last 10 days. Scary thing is that someone now has a good clue that a house is unattended during the day. The next step of the Telemarketer code of practise should be that they must not be able to make repeated calls after say 2 attempts are unanswered.

Incessant attempts continue. Don't these guys get it ? I AM NOT HOME DURING THE DAY.
I called the number back and a recorded message indicates it is a NAB service seeking customer feed back. Yes there are NAB customers in this household. BE WARY OF GIVING FEEDBACK ON A SERVICE OR PERSON OVER THE PHONE. In reality what you are doing is giving  information to help  position the company for their next sales proposition - you will be giving them a free sales lead on yourself. In other circumstances new business costs $1000's to get,  they will refund/reward you NIL !!!

Bluey. You obviously have no clue as to how an outbound call centre works. Here's a rough guide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_centre

Remember, these people are.. well, people. No one likes an occasionally abusive job but sometimes people have to do them in order to achieve something better for themselves.

    Wikipedia defines market research:
"Market research is for discovering what people want, need, or believe", or how they feel. That is what the people behind this number are doing.

Market research is an old business method. It is likely to stay.

At the end of the day, if you don't want to do it, guess what! YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!! Just say one of the following options conveniently numbered 1 to 10:

    1. No
    2. No thank you
    3. I would not like to participate
    4. I do not want to continue
    5. No thanks
    6. Nah, nah thanks
    7. No, and please take me off your list ..........(Crucial to say that if you don't want to be called again.)
    8. No thanks
    9. No thanks
    10. No thanks

    and remember:

IT'S ONLY AN PHONE CALL, NOT THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.

And as for you, Miss/Mr 'prank call' ((clever name by the way, I see what you did there, I bet you're very smart) how old are you now, almost in big school?), a simple piece of advice:

Be kind unto others, and they will be kind unto you.
