Someone keeps calling my number at home and not leaving a message which is driving me nuts. I have a prompt on my mobile to let me know when there is a message on my home message bank. So far in 22 minutes I have received four calls. Tried to ring back but of course, no one answers.

I got a call from them this afternoon (Melbourne, Australia) - they (or their automated system more like it) rang three time in 20 minutes.  Once I answered the line connected and they asked for me by name. I queried who they were and the guy said SimplyTel (presumably http://simplytel.com.au/contact.html).  I asked him where he got my details and he said Telstra gave them to him and asked about my Telstra line.  I haven't been with Telstra for years and my number is unlisted.  

Anyone who buys anything from a telemarketer (who cant be verified in any way!) needs their head checked.  We need more than a do not call listing - It should be illegal to telemarket fullstop. Australian Government are you listening and who are you protecting here?

I was told it's TouchTel.   It's all lies and cold calling.. I was hung up in the middle of asking to be put on the do not call list.  I am recalling the number until he picks up and I can give him a serve.  

I SOOO agree with the above.  I don't know how telemarketers make any money when it's so obvious we are sick and tired of hearing from them.. do people actually say yes to any of there rip off deals??? how stupid do you have to be??????????????

Had the same calls today and went looking for some answers.  Dodgey is all i can say...

I've had two calls from this number, as long as I answer it, they just hung up. It's really annoying.

I have had a few calls from these (2) "0390015829 & 0390015827" numbers in the last few days and when I pick up I just get silence on the other end and then the call eventually drops out. This is definitely classed as a nuisance caller and should be investigated.

I Just got hung up on by a [***]  who called asking if i was paying more than $75 a month on my home phone.. when i said i just recently had a new line connected... 03-9001-5829

EXTREMELY mad.....

Just had 3 from 0390015829 on my mobile this afternoon.  When I answered, no one speaks.  I also had a series of calls a couple of days ago on my office number from another "blocked" number; at least they spoke - trying to flog me some new phone deal.  I got angry at them and gave them a fair amount of abuse.  A few minutes later the guy called me back specifically just so he could call me a "d*ckhead" and harangue me for being rude to him!  Unreal!  The more abusive we are to these people, the more they will hate their jobs and the harder it will be for companies to recruit cold callers.  Let's get really nasty and personal.

I litterally just got a call from these people asking me about my business landline, which i dont have considering they called me on my mobile. i called back and no answer. but when i told him it was a mobile he just hung up. i wanted to called back tell him how rude he was but obviously no answer. next person who gets a call from this number needs to yell at him and tell him to stop perstering everyone. be really rude if you have to!

I have had the calls too. No point in getting angry. We wanted to break the Telstra monopoly. We wanted cheaper telecommunications. Well, we have it. I think that the odd harassing phone call is a small price to pay.

I keep getting calls from this number and when i pick it up there is no one there and when i hang up it keeps ringing and holding up my phone line. I run a business from this phone and is annoying me that i can't use my phone because of this number ringing all the time.

I also go a call from the same number asking by name.said was from telstra??

Just got a call from this number asking for the business owner. When I said that he was unavailable they hung up. Rude.

I received a call from this number informing me they were from Telstra. (We are with Telstra and I am directly responsible for dealing with them). The guy then went on to tell me that we were eligable for a redured rate in our monthly bill (which I thought was odd as we have just recently negotiated a new deal with Telstra) I asked what our current bill was? .. He umm'ed and aaaa'ed and say a figure out of the air .. $90 dollars, which is a few thousand under. I laughed and asked if he was really from Telstra at which point he hung up.

Received a call from this number. Caller was a female who could scarcely contain her mirth and mentioned a 'Telstra number ending in xxxx' related to the business. There is no Telstra number related to my company - never was, never will be. Therefore, the calls from this number could be seen to be highly suspicious and probably not legit.

Hi,  guy rang and  ask " Is xxxxxxxxx your name"

We answer  "Yes"

then hung up.  

Very Rude.  No hello, no thank you.

Just clled us saying Telstra gave them our contact number, was very rude and hung up when I said we had a contract with them. ... Wish I could get hold of them and give them a tast of their own medicine ...

I quess Telstra "accidentally" shared our information with criminal orginaizations.

Damn.

Telemarketer flogging phone plans. Hung up mid sentence as i was saying i wasn't interested.
