- NetasI have received 2 calls, once from a Victor Jackson and later from a guy called Jason. They say they work for a firm called Onestopcomputerfix. They claim they have received notification that my computer has been infected with a Trojan virus and it will gradually slow down and end up not working. They claim that my Antivirus system can not detect this virus but they have a way to get rid of it. They wanted me to go in to my computer to look up the event manager to see how many errors there were in there. I played along and the event manager showed some errors which they said was very bad. Next they wanted to get into my computer which I refused. I said I wanted to investigate a little before I was going anywhere with this. I asked for some contact details and they gave me the phone number 03 90084256 and said they had a web page for me to check out. I did Googled the name "onestopcomputerfix" and found a lot of bad stuff written about these guys. Most of the stuff written by people in the UK. Searching further a similar scam appear in the USA. I am now waiting and ready for these guys if they ring again.

- DiReceived a call from a guy claiming to be Andy Barker from Telstra. He claimed our computer had been hacked but their engineers were working on it and he could help us. He told us our address. He started asking questions like how many users we had. We started getting suspicious due to the questions and also the time of the call (6pm on a weeknight). When asked for ID he gave his employee ID 224058 and his phone number (03) 9008 4256. He gave us an address on Pacific Highway, but said the suburb was Garden.

- DJ| 1 replyThis call gave that number as a call-back number, but this time they were offering to sell me a device that, if I plugged it into any power poiint in my home, would save my up to 40% on my electricity ... which, for a home electricity supply just is not possible for a number of technical reasons. The caller gave their supervisor's name as Sean Williams and the company name as being Power Saver Limited.

- E Young replies to DJI just had the same scam as DJ. A person from Power Savers Limited was talking (with a heavy (non indian for once) accent) about how I was such a good payer of my power bill that they had an offer. Since I was barely about to understand the person, as was being quite aggressive, I was put onto her supervisor, a person called Alex. He was willing to give me their number to call back on, the number this page is about.

- I'mnotdumbGot the call tonight from number 03 9008 4256 a Indian guy claimed to be from Microsoft saying it was infected by someone hacking it from Vic etc etc so he was going to run me through a few steps to fix it (luckily I'm very aware of scams) but I couldn't understand him anyway so he put his manager on which sounded like he just handed the phone to him (not very professional for 'microsoft') the manager 'andy barker' was Indian too but I could understand him. Said my kid was busy crying and I'll call back later, called 3 times no pick up 4th call answered straight away by a man of European descent answering 'hello' I said hi who's this (thinking I had the wrong number) he said Kevin who's this and I said oh I got given this number to ring, is this 03 9008 4256 he says yeah (still as European voice) I say so this isn't Microsoft?? He says yes (European) this is microsoft (indian ascent) I said ur full of it, go f your self. Funniest thing ever though how he changes his ascent like that and still expects me to fall for it.

- ian stampgot a phone call tonight from a man claiming to be from power savers limited, he told us he had a device that would save us 40% on our power bill.......my mum actually thought he was from our power company and unwittingly gave him our credit card details, he then explained that the device would cost $150 and did he have permission to take the money from her account now......she said no!!!
later he called back and explained he had lost his job due to her changing her mind and he wanted some sort of compensation, again my mum hung up.
later he called back and i answered the phone, pretending to be her husband, i made out like i was very interested and got as many details as possible from him>
david nash - (very indian sounding name)
power savers limited
03 90084256
he said he had gotten my details from white pages, even though we are listed as private.
He then asked me again if he could take the money and i said no.........his reaction to was to tell me to "go to the hell, you motherf**ker, I'll be sending someone to your house this week to f**k you up"
this amused me so i played for a little bit longer until he hung up.
I'm worried now that he has our credit card details, address, full names and bank details. Could lead to identity theft???
I immediately called the banks and cancelled the card so hopefully nothing was taken yet.- Caller: power savers limited

- RAUMy wife pick up call from Kate (Indian tone) and asked her if we are microsoft windows user. As she doesn't know much about computer, she handed phone to me. Kate told me that my computer is hacked at 6:30pm yesterday night and it is hacked from Northern Victoria (as all other posts have same place mentioned, just wondering if all people staying in Northern Victoria have nothing else to do than hacking computers). I asked her how she knows my name and number and she told me that all microsoft windows desktop purchased are being monitored by their server as they are cerfified Microsoft service provider. She wanted me to go on my computer so that she can fix the virus however, I had an appointment to go. Hence, I said give me your name and number so that I can give you a call back and no marks for guessing number given was 03-90084256.
When I came back home, I got call from her again at 5:30pm (now tone is little changed than previous one). Interesting, in the first call she told me that they are working until 5pm only. When I cross-checked her with various queries, she almost got angry and told me that if something happens to your computer than don't call their office to fix it. She hang up just after that.
Beware about this scam..... don't give them any details.- Caller: One Stop Computer Fix

Dumb?? - NothappyHad a call from One Stop Computer Fix. Paul Johnson (with an Indian accent) Ph 0390084256. When I called this number to confirm who they were, there was initially no answer on the phone.
They wanted to get into my computer, so being sceptical, I said no.
They said I had been hacked into from Nothernern Victoria at 6.30pm last night and I would lose my computer hard drive within two hours. They wanted to gain access to my computer and for $100.00 they would give me support for nine years.
WHen they rang back I told them that I had reported their phone number, their company to the Federal Police, and they said they don't give a S**T.
This is a scam.
