This caller is operating a computer scam wanting to access your operating system

This is true, they pretend to be from Microsoft, don't listen to them, they can hack into your computer.

I don't have caller ID, but this guy gave me this number. Same scam - pretending my computer sent them notifications that I have a virus. They rang twice in the same day and I'm supposed to be on the do not call list. So I asked him a bunch of details (name, location, number, company) and lodged a complaint with ACMA (do not call list).

HI Everyone I too just had an Indian caller claiming my pc was at high risk & i needed to pass on details to him.. I told him I don't agree with his call & don't believe his location/ & why he was calling me.. I told him I wasn't being scammed he became very argumentative towards me.. He told me his name was somebody SMITH... Uhm.. hello since when do these people have SMITH for a surname..   I hung the call up he then called me back & said it was a technical issue their end,  I said "funny that" I hung up on you idiot head!!  Funny they haven't called back..If my PC was at risk Im sure my very high "internet Security" would be alerting me to such things..

I received two calls yesterday, and another two today. Henry Blair is the person's name, with a heavy subcontinent accent. They are supposedly from Melbourne, and like the rest of you deal with viruses on our computers.

What good samaritans I thought. I thought wonderful how these people woulld like to protect me from viruses. So when I asked if I should back-up any data first he said not to worry - which I found quite strange. They were very adamant to keep me on the phone as long as possible. Took his phone number and called back. A woman also with a similar accent answered the phone.

Yup they called me then and when i told them i wasnt comfortable with remote access to my computer because i wasnt an idiot and didnt believe him, he started accusing me of being a minor and wasting his time. when i assured him that i was neither a minor, nor an idiot hebecame defensive and aggressive. just ignore the people with little much to do but try tosteal your money.

got a call from this guy and he kept ringing back when I hung up - sounded like a scam to me

They phoned me today and I asked for the number..... which was this number.

The guy told me that they were from DHE Support and that they'd tracked my computer to be sending out viruses. I told them must be my mum's computer and I'd get them to call back. I never trust anyone who calls me MRS when they phone *LOL*

Yep - got the same idiots - I asked them for an ABN and he didn't know what I was talking about - then I asked what my ip was - they gave me 192.168.xx.xx number which is not a valid external ip address

- told them not to call me again and that I would report them to the federal police (not sure what they could do but all I could think of at short notice)

Anyway - I reckon these scumbugs would trip up alot of unsuspecting folk out there.  So beware

PS - they have already started sending bogus reports to this site - check out the idiots on the 8th - different names but almost identical poor english text

Henry Blair was the chap I spoke to yesterday, also from Melbourne also same phone number, also no idea about ABN numbers, GST, asked about his thoughts on the carbon tax, he acted like I was from another planet,  this guy was not in the country I can assure you of that.

An Indian lady first with very poor English called, and then with persistent questioning and refusal to take instructions from her, she put this Henry chap on the phone.
So thinking that these [***] have hacked into my PC... i wanted to find out as much info as I could. I have had a few dramas with the pc of late, and to get the call at the same time as my computer was rebooting itself again, sort of spun me out to be honest.

What freaks me out with this guy, is that he new my name, my address and home phone, when I asked how he got that, he said through the error message, "Which is crap"
Anyone share some experiences if they can get that info from an isp address or something else...??

It is a group of Indian men claiming to be from Microsoft or Windows reporting supposed viruses on your computer.

Microsoft DO NOT call customers in regards to viruses or anything like that on your computers.

These men will direct you to this website (www.ammyy.com) where they are able to gain access to your computer via the internet. So do not go to that link, as it lets them take control of your computers and they will steal extremely confidential and vital information, bank details and passwords, and can even possibly steal your identity.

They are very persistent, and insist they are not scammers, but please do not believe and fall victim to these men - no matter how insistent they are!

The best thing to do if you get a call from "Microsoft", is to hang up straight away.

I have recently fallen victim to these scammers and I contacted the REAL Microsoft to be advised on what to do. I would just suggest you call 13 20 58, for Australia only or 612 9870 2200 if you're based internationally, and ask them for advice :)

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Virus report etc.  When I told him to go away, he became quite defensive claiming only to want to help me.

can anyone find out the address to the ammyy scammers number 0390105652.
I think its in victoria. I would love to pay them a visit for all the annoying phone calls and old people they have ripped off.
