- Andreas Von Mittenberg| 1 replyMedibank Private contacting over services/products...
I am a customer though so it may not be cold marketing- Caller: Medibank Private
- miss.jadeIt's Medibank Private. They're probably wondering why you haven't paid your monthly premium?
- Caller: Medibank Private
- GenerateTheWaveYou guys are [removed:lang]... it is MediBank private, if you were smart you would look in your email (where you have been emailed, while first initially calling to receive health care etc and it is a real email, .com.au <-- paid for email, no scammers can fake this.)
I spoke to the same girl, i got when i first called MediBank,
You guys need to stop being such whimps and toughen up. - irritated| 3 repliesReceived this call from someone asking for my surname & address. Turns out it was a legitimate call to let me know about changes to my policy but she would only give me my level of cover as proof of her identity. I then spent the next 15mins phoning Medibank to check on the call.
Not happy with this! They tell me that they're going to send me a letter anyway - why not just do that and avoid this whole debacle!- Caller: Medibank
- FATbasterd replies to Andreas Von Mittenbergits a medibank. I owe them money. ha ha
WTF i am doing here. I should be buying my snacks...3 bigmak - Medibank employee| 2 repliesIf any of you had actually bothered to call this number back, you would realise there is an automated recording stating that medibank had attempted to contact you and asking you to call the number on the back of your membership card and contact medibank. I have worked for medibank for about two years in an outbound CUSTOMER SERVICE campaign.. We have always used this number but it's becoming incredibly frustrating having websites like this where people are constantly in fear that someone out there is ripping them off. If you are a member and you get a call from us, it's either because of a change on your policy or maybe you haven paid your premiums??? Privacy laws REQUIRES US to do a three point security check to confirm WE AREN'T GIVING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE ELSE!! These questions include surname, address, DOB etc but you can just provide surname, contact number (which we obviously already have because we called you) and number of people on your cover. You are obviously paranoid is you think someone can steal your identity which questions like this. If you are asked any questions you aren't comfortable with, don't fight with us, just call the number on your card and they will tell you the exact message that we tried to take the courtesy to CALL YOU about.
- Caller: Medibank Private
- Medibank employee replies to irritated| 2 repliesWould you like a call so that you have the opportunity to ask questions about the information we are telling you about? Or do you just want a cold hard letter in the mail, and then you can pay for the phone call to ask all the questions that come up? Because if you are not happy with getting a quick COURTESY call from a Medibank employee just trying to do their job, why don't you just call us and we can list you as 'do not contact'. Don't you think that would be far more painless for both parties rather than this negative stuff you use your time posting on the internet??
- JimI have been hounded by this number for the last few weeks. I have just received another call. Every time I answer it it hangs up, when I call the number back I get the Medibank Private message - this number is calling me sometimes 3 times per day. I am now getting really pissed off! Calling ACMA to get this my number put on the DNCR.
To Generate the wave: You [***] - harden up? - are your a moron or what? Its nothing to do with hardening up. What I have experienced is bloody harrasment you goose!
To the Medibank Employee/s: Well you had better tell your bosses the bloody staff either aren't answering their calls or the system is failing because I am furious enough to go to a TV station and get them to publicly sort you idiots out!- Caller: Medibank Private
- lalalaTo Medibank Employee: sorry but if ANYONE is annoyed enough to actually contact the Medibank Private about this, they would know that what you said is a trick forYOUR scam, medibank employee my *, go * yourself, you scammers should just GO TO HELL
- lets just say - Ian -I too have recieved this dodgy call from medibank private and I dont even have a policy with them. when I answered it just hung up, I called the number back and there is a message saying inviting me to call 132 331 regarding available medibank private products. I suspect its called push marketing or some such.
If it is medibank private its Dodgy as hell,
I will be will reporting it to the accc. and the telecomunications ombusdman.- Caller: medibank private
- Call type: Telemarketer
- lets just say - Ian -| 2 repliesCalled Accc and they report that it is likely an attempt to avoid cold calling legislation i.e. get the victim to call them back. and then make themselve a marketing target.
This has been noted by accc, as it is clearly a breach of conduct.
is there no Honour left in medibank insurance Co, they look like marketing thugs, not so far removed from the protection racketeers.
"Racketeers coerce reticent potential victims into buying "protection" thanks WIKI
where does it end - will medibank will be threatening to break old ladies legs to get them to take out a policy.
Hit em hard - ACCC -

- MrP replies to lets just say - Ian -| 1 replyGlad to discover my missed call is from Medibank. I've been a customer for 15+ years, and paid out thousands more than I ever claimed. I missed a few payments due to a personal crisis and am now not covered when I need it. They may be calling about a missed payment - as finances are very tight - but I will be taking my health insurance elsewhere.
- jkI understand that you dont want to give out your infomation over phone then dont. I am a member with medibank and i had moved address and changed my bank details, i forgot to contact medibank to change my details. I recieved a call from medibank and they advised that i was behind in payment. If they did not contact me i would have fallen more into arrears and not been able to catch up, also medibank updated everything over the phone all done within 5 mins. Now would you like it if i had to claim and they paid me out and i had not payed my policy and if i had not got that phone call i would have not payed at all. You people would be paying higher premiums because they changed this to please everbody. this happens in every health fund. Also you take out a policy for a reason to know that you are covered just in case something happens, and until something does and see the hosptal bill that medibank has payed for you, you would stop your complaning. HAVE YOU SEEN THE WAITING LISTS IN PUBLIC HOSPITALS go onto the medicare website and have a look. Also we all work and sale services to people everyday and if people dont pay they dont receive the service. You should not take any calls that you recieve from your current policies as an insult or scum whether its your car, gas or health insurance because you are a paying custmer and they are providing you a service.
- Caller: medibank
- SimonDon't worry they are good like that, you might want to say go f yourself but they aren't just real sly smoothtalkers they are calling Justin case. Maybe you'd prefer your guts to look like spaghetti bolognese yeah yeah advantage plus.
- Caller: medibank pwivate
- TThis is plain silly, if it were truely a legit medibank thing
1) you should have medibank on the caller ID
2) you should freaken leave a message
3) you should have send an email instead.
Like really, calling and not leaving a message from an unknown caller... that sounds really professional.- Caller: unknown
- Nora Ball replies to Medibank employeeThats a bit unfair. There is a lot of weirdo rip off merchant scam artists out there trying to get personal info from people. I have every right to protect my privacy. Lose the CAPS too. Don't need the anger.
- Billy bob replies to Medibank employeeHi Medibank employee. You are missing the point. Its not that we object to Medibank asking to confirm details... its that we dont know whether you are Medibank or not. When the phone rings with an unknown Melbourne number and suddenly starts demanding personal information from us, red flags go up. As it turns out, that number is legitimately Medibank, but the point is WE DO NOT KNOW THIS until googling it later. I realise you think youre doing us a favour, but unsolicited calls asking for personal information should ALWAYS be treated with suspicion.
- whateverOh thanks for telling me - medibank private- I'm so paranoid, I can't pick up the phone.
- whatever replies to MrPthey are all like this... BUPA no better
- SALLYThis is a private number I don't recognise the number, please do not call again
