multiple missed calls, never a message left

This number called, no message left, their phone said disconnected when I tried ringing back.

missed a call from this number...could it be vodafone?

Got a call from this number yesterday, they said it was Optus. The voice sounded electronic, and didn't really listen to my responses properly. Tried to say I was a good customer and could get the tv service on my phone for free. I was a little wary so said, 'no thanks I am happy with my service' and went to say goodbye and the person was pushy and said 'no i can't let you go with out getting this service' so i again said 'that is ok, thank you goodbye'. Today I had a missed call from the same phone number. I am thinking it is a pretend call seeing that others of you have just recently made comment regarding this number.

ì continued to call this number after i read this and it finally rang.....straight away i got a call back asking is this alvin when i said who they hung up..............

Exact same thing happened to me, they asked for my DOB... I said ahhhh no! I don’t know who you are so I won’t be giving you that information thank you and hung up!!! Seens pretty dodgy to me.

Multiple missed calls,

Lots of missed calls from this number over hte past.  I know it's Optus because one time I answered and told them to call back.  If I call them back, the number doesn't work.

Past week I meant.

got so many calls from this number as well. I always miss it and tried calling back. Got an electronic voice saying it's Oceana or something like that.

I'm getting heaps of calls as well and am unable to call back - it drops out on connection

I got the same today, when I refused to give my name, address and date of birth, the man got very very ugly on the phone.  I asked for his name and marketing identifier and he got even more uglier.  Have spent the last 30 minutes on the phone to Optus lodging a complaint.  They advised that they "Outsource" to a telemarketing company.  When I said I am on the do not contact register, they got a bit funny.  They have 24 hours to fix it or I am off to the Telecommunications Ombudsman again....

I called them back and they said they r Ociana customer intercation services - they are an Optus outsourcing telecommunication company

i rung back too, but if they were optus or wat not y would they have the address for an old folks home?

Yes when I answered they said they were from Optus. I've been getting calls from this number for the past two weeks now. Whenever I answer they ask for my father but I say that they have the wrong number but they still call the next day. Once again they asked for my father and I said that'll I'll pass the phone to him and once my dad answered they hung up!!
I've had evough of these phone calls, so I bought an app on my phone  called 'Black List'. No more phone calls :)

I just had a call from this number but I never answer numbers I don't know so luckily avoided them!

they called me today and said it was optus regarding my partners phone accounts

They called me offering me "two free products" for my phone, one being a free TV phone service (that would not use up downloads or space on my phone??). I said I wasn't interested and hung up. Sounds a bit scammy.

they are oceana and if you able to ring them back they offer you the choice to remove your number so lets see if this is the case.  I am not optus so guess they are outsourcing for all companies.  it was automated and kept repeating the same line twice.  I too will go to ombudsmen if it happens again as they ring and try to tell me they have 2 products I may want and I keep saying no and hang up. now it rings and hangs up on me lol. they must be paid commission of packet of peanuts for each sale
