Received a text enquiry about my car for sale. Could not call number as not accepting incoming calls. Weird message asking if my car was still available and its present condition and the firm price. Who even says firm price?

I also recieved this same message but have also recieved some fraudulent emails trying to rip me off $1000 by sending me things like paypal spoofs. dunno if they're related but just be careful, another thing i learned is to not trust anything that sounds too good to be true

The same happened to us yesterday from this number. We believed it to be a scam also.
He wanted us to email through pics of car and wanted firm price. Then said he wanted car and he would have a 'private courier' pick it up and he would pay through paypal. Sounded very dodgy.
We had the car advertised in the Examiner newspaper. Where did you advertise yours?

Email from jamescott323@yahoo. Selling a car in a country NSW newspaper, asked for a fixed price and details of the car. I sent photos and 'James' emailed back accepting the purchase, asked that the funds should be passed to PayPal. The car would be picked by courier. Too good to be true so I contacted Police. Police suggested that no further contact with 'James' should occur. Police also suggested that the courier would pick up the car and the funds would disappear.
Thanks everyone for reporting this SCAM!

We had the same when we advertised our car - only advertised in The Times at Victor Harbor, SA. He must spend a lot of time on his scam!  As soon as he said he would buy it without looking we became suspicious - only one day away from opening a PayPal Account.  Thanks guys.

I got a text msg re: car am selling, asking bottom price and to reply to gilldavid1982@hotmail.com. Then he emailed me saying he had to pay through paypal and for me to open account and when I declined he then wrote that he would pay directly into my account if I gave my bank account details. I asked for his details for the rego papers. He replied with a licence number and address in Darwin as well as your abovementioned phone number.
I went no further with correspondence and it is getting exhausting trying to track him down.
Besides, what on earth could they get him for.. he has not yet broken any laws has he. :(
This Gill David is the third person to respond to my ad in similar way. Sms me to email the details then reply with the paypal request.
    Cheers
Gypsy_red am y7mail.com if anyone has idea to stop these persons.
