Thye person using this number is a Paypal scammer

Received in relation to gumtree ad for vehicle requesting PayPal details.

Same as RWilliams.  Looking for PayPal details in response to an ad (probably from Gumtree).  Didn't want SMS replied to, and using Hotmail email address.

Selling a car on Quokka, Fred says he lives in England, car is in Darwin left to him in a will from his Dad. Wants to use Google for money transfer. Became very pushy towards the end. Transport carrier website dodgy too - www.nt.cargo-autoshippers.com.au

We got one too and dads selling his harley and this guys scamming it and sayin its in darwin and hes in the uk and he inherited the bike from his father

Yes this guy is still trying, has anyone been caught out and is the transport company real ?

Regarding my advertisement of selling my car on Gumtree:

I have received a sms message saying "Hi. am interested in your car. Pls confirm the price & availability to my email adress: secex@live.com. email only. Chris

Not very trustful if someone' s interested in buying an expensive car and having just contact via email...

This number messaged me : "hey how are you? Havent seen you in a few years. Would you like to
meet up?"

Wouldn't reply on who they are...
I assume got my number from carsales,  maybe this person recently watched identity theif and wants to give that a go lol

Funny how this number seems to get around, my scammer is apparently from NZ working in Oil and Gas, can send a text but not make a phone call due to "being at sea for 25 days" but will buy sight unseen for my best price will bank transfer and send agent to collect once funds clear. Yeah right guess whos getting reported.....

received sms about advertisment I posted on gumtree. Asked me only to respond on email.

They're still at it, requesting email responses only.  Scam alert !

Just received a text message from this same number. Wanted me to email regarding a for sale item on gumtree. No text, just email mac.....gmail.com. So glad I checked here first!!  I actually received another scam from 'janet' last month, and that was email replies only, requesting that I create a PayPal account etc.

Hi, how can i report this person also. I got exactly the same story. wanting to purchase all my furniture i had put on sale on gumtree and asking for me to pay $950 payment prior to me receiving the funds. I even got emails from Paypal that looked legit.

I received the same message within hours of listing the furniture. I actually emailed back before I saw a warning on gumtree about people asking to email. That brought me to this site.
Hopefully they won't be able to do any thing using my email address.

I had an ad on gumtree selling furniture.  This number texted me and asked me not to reply by text but to email macsmith202@gmail.com I thought it was an odd message so googled the number first.  Glad I did!!

Same story as others put add on gumtree selling furniture got text asking for email reply with some story about bring at sea and wanting paypal details thought it sounded odd so started googling and found myself here - obviously dodgy

same thing!

This number texted me and asked me not to reply by text but to email macsmith202@gmail.com i have read Gumtree's guidelines so straight away reported it.

This twit texted me today using the same number but saying I owe $8329.98 on a PPG account.  I have never heard of ppg so googled the number and reached.  He's escalating obviously.

He's still trying. Just contacted me. Sounded dodgy so I googled his number and this comes up. Ha! Busted. Thanks guys.

Received the same SMS as stated above, from Gumtree in relation to some furniture I have listed. I was quick to respond via email as per his request as I was in the car and had limited time to Google research. No response to my email as yet but googled him now since I'm home and suspisions realised!! Let's create a catfish account and get him back. Haha
