Despite my attempts to block ----------these calls come through     --------who are they ---they leave no message

Claimed to be from GfK NOP - but they are genuine market research, this guy admitted that the call was from a company 'affiliated' to a mobile phone company.
GFK website does not list this as one of their genuine numbers.

The Caller ID is 0442078909051, but the '044' seems to be the international identifier for the UK (Should be 0044 really, but must be a slight error). If you strip this away you are left with 020 7890 9051, which is a genuine GfK NOP number, as shown on their web site:

However, they did call at 12.45pm on a Sunday to conduct a survey about Abbey, which is pretty intrusive.

I'm unable to identify this number. I have no business with them and I would like to know who they are and how they managed to obtain an ex directory number

They claim to be phoning on behalf of BT to conduct a survey about a fault that BT repaired 4 months ago, (I get about 5 faults a day for BT) so no chance of remembering that anyway, dont answer the phone as the survey takes about 15 minutes or tell them to **** off.

Caller wished to discuss 'investments' Told to 'go away'.

Im getting these calls in ireland from this uk number shows up as 002078909051. I checked 002 which is internaltional for Egypt but came across this webpage which seems to put things right. I havnt answered the call (received it twice in 2 weeks) as we've just gotten this number 6 weeks ago.

this company have rung my landline number every day for weeks despite teling them no to - keep asking for my husband, told them he not interested whoever they are - are they stupid - why keep ringing.

This number Barclays customer service as of this date.

I have GfK NOP calling me, I know who they are, but they do not give there number when calling!
my last call from them was at 20:35  today, do they work all day?

Although my landline is TPS protected, I have just received a call from a female with an English accent, giving her company as GFK Research.  Told her to go forth and multiply, albeit in two words.  To whom can I complain, as TPS says that market research companies are allowed to phone all numbers, albeit that companies such as GFK lie about their real reason for calling.  I appreciate that TPS cannot control calls from overseas, but why are those awful people cased in the UK purporting to be doing research allowed to breach my obvious wish not to be bothered by cold calling?

total pain in the backside. I'm registered with tps and ex-directory. Wish they would just sod off and leave me alone. I think I got my point across when they called. No doubt they'll call again at some point. Remtards.

Received a  call from this number I dont answer unknown numbers went to ansaphone no message left - these companies really are a pain some of us have a life!!!

02078 909 051 - Cold call from this number 1605hr 08Feb2015.  Went to answerphone - no message.  I'm ex-directory & TPS registered.  Been fairly nuisance free from this type of call for several years.  Now 4 called (different numbers) within 2 weeks.  Those I've spoken to say they are market research & the number they ring is 'randomly generated'.  Don't believe them.

02078 909 051 - Cold call from this number 1324hr 01Mar2015.  (previously called 08Feb2015 when it went to answerphone but left no message).  When answered asked for me by name. I'm ex-directory & TPS registered!  This time went along with them, a bit, to see exactly who they were.  'Abbas Sultan' (pleasant enough) said he was acting for GFK NOP Independent Market Research Co.  Head Office given as Competition & Marketing Authority, 25 Canada Square, Canada Wharf, London E14 5LQ (T. 2078 90 9000); he states he was calling from a call centre at 64-66 Alma Street, Luton, Beds., LU1 2PL.

States that I should have received an email or letter to ask to co-operate with a survey when contacted by phone (no such received).  States my bank had, by law, released some of my personal details to them and wanted me to 'enter the survey'.  Challenged to state under what law or regulation my data was released - unable to say.  Asking for me by name & mentioning the 'email/letter' contact, this seems to be used to strengthen their authority and persuade to take part.

Started survey.  Asked if I had and account with *********  Bank (I have).  Then he started asking questions about my usage of this account and others.  Stopped him & asked for summary of questions he was going to ask, which he did.  He admitted to having my name, telephone number & bank.  Said he did not have my address or any other personal details.  However, the answers to the questions and simple internet searches would provide enough to help ID thieves.
Refuse to continue survey & ask to speak to a supervisor.  Challenge her (Fatima Ahmed) as to the 'law' that allowed release of my data.  Could not answer.  Complain of intrusion to my home, upset of a Sunday afternoon, and worry as to use of my banking data.  By telling the World I'm TPS registered and ExDirectory, I'm saying I DO NOT WANT COLD CALLS.  That surveys are exempt don't not morally entitle them ignore that wish. She volunteered to remove me from the database to prevent further calls - asked she did so.  We'll see.

I'm taking this up with my bank & maybe following through to "GFK head office."  Kept them occupied for 25minutes, so a few others were not bothered that afternoon!

I've come back from a lovely time out in the sun, only to then answer an incoming call on Landline... "Hello, er, good afternoon, I'm calling from GFK". Then I interrupted with a very loud F off in Italian then hung up.... My friend started laughing and said "um, don't think he will be calling you again"!.... These people, GFK called me on Weds EVENING then now on the WEEKEND - I'm ex directory so what the hell are they playing at?!!

Rubbish. You work for the scammers...
