I just got a text about buying my car from this number. This number is one higher (yes, literally one higher) than another guy's, named Stephen Lewry. His number is 0477751491. Stephen Lewry is a scammer who has been doing this for a while. If you get a class from either of these numbers, give them both a miss! I posted the email from Stephen Lewry earlier on this site and the email from Jamie.chris010@gmail.com is below:

He lives in Darwin presently so is going to be shipped to Darwin after have sorted out with the payment, i want to be sure if it is still in good condition ,i will not be able to come for inspection now all i really need from you is the exact details of it.Due to the nature of my work i am a very busy person working all day,am a sailor am presently on-board, i don't have access to my bank account online as am not with my credit card details here but i have my ANZ bank account link up with my PayPal account so I will be paying you through PayPal to your nominated bank account or better still is if you have a PayPal account ,please get back to me with your BSB and account details or PayPal account so i can proceed with the payment and contact the courier agent who will come to pick it up and deliver it in NT for my son .Await your reply .

it is fake, they try and trick you into sending them money via PayPal or Western Union
If you get any sms from 0477751493 or 0477751492 just delete it straight away. They will usually say that they are off shore on an oil rig and can't get to a phone. Make sure you always talk to someone when buying or selling goods online. Get their full details including address and contact numbers, make sure you can call them directly. Meet them in a public place or at there work/home. Don't get tricked into sending money or goods without meeting them in person and checking ID. Do not accept emailed ID as they can fake that also. I got an email with a fake NSW license which I took straight to the cops and reported them.

I got an SMS and email from this guy this morning. Email is identical. Word for word.

I just received the same SMS from +61 477 751 493 in response to an add I have on Gumtree. They requested email correspondence to chrismax120@gmail.com

I sent an email to them and this was their reply

I thought it a little strange as "son just graduated" in April???? and a few other bits. So I checked the number. Thanks for posting.

Same as above.  Jamie the Scammer seems busy on Carsales. Does anyone know how to stop these guys wasting our efforts and time.  There's no scam until you pay them something

Smane thing happened to me just now. same message, smae number, ad was on gumtree.

Just got a message from 0477751386, asking about my car which I am selling on gumtree, I cannot believe there are such lowlife people, i am selling my car as my daughter needs surgery, to think it's okay to rip people off when they are going through a hard enough time, is unbelievable.

'Brian Scott' is the new name of this fraudster. I am happy I checked out this site, I'll give him a hard time now. He wants to buy my car but he can't pick it up since he is "offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project". He can now take a hike!

yep, same deal. just got a message saying they were interested and asked for my firm price. asked me to contact them via email: jamie.chris010@gmail.com

thought i'd just google the email to see if it was legit. thought it was weird that they wanted to correspond via email. I'm pretty sure they can do that from the website so why see a text?

Yep Jamie.chris010@hotmail.com just sent a text asking for girl price and to only contact via email. Glad I'm not gullible enough to email him!!!

Surely there is some way to play with these fools and rip them off?
I have Jamie on a hook now and am sending him as many time wasting emails as I can...

Got the same message about buying the car for his son, a bit odd in though so I googled his email thanks guys :)

i have recently received the exact same scam from numbers 0447100304 (gregfox11@live.com.au) and 0447100323 (nellybill0@gmail.com) asking to email back only i tried to call these umbers and they where disconnected

i then recieved two more messages from raymond (ramondjak01@gmail.com) and Jamie (jamie.chris010@gmail.com) however these two messages appeared on my phone with names and no numbers

i replied to all 4 and recived back the same email responses as all of you have experienced above so glad i cought onto it straight away
stupid gumtree and tradingpost!!!

He wants you to send money to a chinese address using western union. LOL  send nothing its a scam along with quite a few others that use the same SMS messages if you cant talk to them on the phone don't waste your time, They have such interesting stories to convince you to part with your money DON"T.
