Report a phone call from 05-0099-2299 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Rebecca| 1 replyKeeps calling me but not sure who it is.
- Tj| 1 replyThe company calling you is "Metropolitan Collection Services Limited"
They are a part of HSBC and do the Debt Collection for them.
The website for MCS is;
https://www.paymcs.com
They will bother you quite often if you do not answer the calls, they will try over and over again.
Just tell them to put any queries in writing as it is easier to communicate this way.
If they complain just say you cannot reveal any personal information over the phone for security reasons, they will have no choice but to hang up, as they require security questions to proceed.
I hope this helps.
P.S. They are horrible.- Caller: Metropolitan Collection Services
- CarlosGot a call from this number.I have been paying my debt monthly so I dont know why they have been calling me for.Maybe for a review of my payments...too bad.I'm not gonna respond
- gimthey called me too I have an outstanding loan from hsbc, I have agreed to make a monthly payment using a payment card the they have supplied me with but they keep caLling my every month.
they are really nasty they don't listen to you if try to say anything the only answer you get is YOU HAVE TO PAY.
I HATE THEM- Caller: Metropolitan Collection Services Limited
- RogThey called my wife out of the blue, with all payments up to date. Their client (HSBC) wanted to know if she could pay off the balance in full. She said no, they went away. If you're not behind with payments, chances are that's what they'll ask.
- Sean| 1 replyThey called me 6 times today, I answered every one. 1 Genuine call and then 5 silent calls throughout the day. On the first call I answered and dealt with the query. I'm in a debt management plan & all payments are up to date, I thought that was the end of it. Two hours later & the silent calls begin. Each time I phone back and the operator asked the same questions I had answered earlier. This continued throughout the day. I then verbally ask them to stop calling, after looking at my file they agreed I should not have been called & will ensure it stops.
Two hours later.. the phone rings & it's them again, I mention the details above & they reply 'sorry we should not have called you I'll place a note on your file'.. guess what an hour later & there back on the phone. By now I'm a little pi**ed off with it all & ask for their address & fax threatening a formal complaint for harassment, the letter has been faxed & I'll be posting a copy too. It's now been 4 hours & the phone has stayed silent.- Caller: Metropolitan Collection Services
- MonkeyBmthI dont even have an account with HSBC and these people are calling me
- Caller: MCS
- juani am italian, i owe them 2thous. but now i live in italy and i get the letters at my parent´s house.
a final notice that it says they will take legal action against me, can they do it? - charmaineI have never had an account with HSBC any ideas on what I can do to stop them calling me? More to the point how did they get my mobile number? Only my friends, family and mobile provider know my number.
- cornerflag| 1 replyMetropolitan Collection Services Limited keep pestering my partner and me since about alleged debts that my daughter appears to have accumulated with HSBC. We keep telling them that she does not live here, and that we have nothing to do with them, but that does not stop the calls.
Any ideas to prevent MCS from continuing being a nuisance?- Caller: Metropolitan Collection Services Limited
- Sid| 1 replyI am with a debt management company and everything is up to date and I am paying the amount to them we agreed upon at the right time every month.
However these guys keep calling my mobile number, usually around the time the payments are due. Now keep in mind I am in a debt plan because my debts reached high amounts and I was struggling to pay. They only ask if I can pay off my entire debt in one go (Around £20k), or if I can up my payments to astronomical amounts which no-one could afford.
They know they should contact my debt management company before me, but they completely flaunt this and harass me with silent calls and nagging calls. Pain in the neck they are.- Caller: Metropolitan Collections
- amyi too have account with a debt mangement agency cause debts got out of control. anyway i get fone calls from this number, try to fone back and says 'office is now closed'
how can they phone and office be closed? - A.xthey kept callign my parents home and told me to pay back all the money i was like if i had the money to pay it all today i would have done it already
so i pay a 1/3 of the amount and they say they will want to take 100 pounds from me a moneth and i was like i dont have a job
it really pissed me off. i hate over drafts... to add to the issue there is no HSCB branch in Dundee, makes things so hard.
I officially hate HSBC- Caller: MCS/on behalf of HSBC
- RussI received a call from these guys at 08:54 on Saturday morning!! they only rang once & didn't bother to leave any answer phone messages either. no doubt i will receive lots more calls later. I'm with a debit management company as well & all I can suggest is that you tell them to contact them and not you. i hate HSBC. they offer help with my debt but then turned me down & laughed in my face. a rude woman said it was my fault i was in debt & i would have to sort my own problems out on my own. HSBC have got a right way with their Customers. either they bombard you with calls from the Central India Call Centre or use there partner in crime Metropolitan Collection Services Limited.
I would never suggest opening an account with HSBC like i did. do you research first. NatWest & Barclay's seem a lot better. if you're children are wanting to open an account go with either of the above.- Caller: Metropolitan Collection Services Limited
- DavidI know how you all feel. I too have a dept with HFBC bank. Thank god its paid off in November. But like so many here i receive calls month after month from metropolitan asking me if i want to pay it off and update my details which hasn't changed in over five years.I only pay £50 a month from my bank card cause thats all i can afford and they dont seem to understand that simple fact. I don't answer the phone to them anymore cause im sick to the teeth of it. Kick there asre i say!!!

- davey boyive just finally paid my debt of 1100 pound but these mcs ppl never let me know so i ended up paying 70 popund to much. so wen i rang for a refund they were like ring back in 2 weeks i was like....eh. hold on a minute mate! so fair enough i did i rang back this evenig there sending me my check..... thats right check ([***]) to my home address and it will be with me in another 14 days then i have to wait 4 ddays for it to clear. so my argument is when they want money they got it straight away but when they owe me money it will take over a month the set of t34ts . so i closed my hsbc account down. nobody shoul use them. but im happy my debts paid yeah!
- Caller: mcs idiots
- Paula79They are so rude! I am on a DMP but they still keep phoning, it's now become embarrasing as they call my work number - and I have never given my work number out.... am not impressed to say the least.
- Caller: MCS
- barbaraThey drive me nuts keep calling! Especially on sundays. My account is up to date but they still keep calling....When i ask why they are calling as it is up to date they say that it is a courtesy call!! GITS
- Lainey| 1 replyI also keep getting calls from these people. I have outstanding debt with an HSBC credit card. I am paying it back via a debt management plan and all my payments are up to date and my agency has contacted them and agreed the payments with them therefore why am I getting calls still? Also I have registered with the Tele Preference Service so are they still allowed to call?
- Caller: Metropolitan Collection Services Ltd
- LaniThese horrid people from MCS call me every month even though my account is up to date, demanding that I pay the full amount or increase my payments. When I tell them this is not possible they have turned arounfd and told me that I have to clear the debt faster. They are extremely rude and I have lost my temper on a few occasions as they ignore you, talk over you and treat you like dirt. I always seem to be called by the Phillipenes call centre, they are very aggressive I hate them so much. Never go with HSBC I had a student account with them when I was at uni and I wracked up a bit of an overdraft instead of letting me pay it off bit by bit, they made me get a consolodation loan, which is killing me its about £500 more than my original debt. Trust me go with Lloyds or The co-operative, they are much better.
