just got missed call a few mins ago no message

Message from rachael. but not saying who they are from?

Just got a call from this number asking for my date of birth and address. Was very uncool and upsetting.
Would not tell me why they are calling until I tell them personal details. As IF!!!

I got a call from this number on 5th May 2010 at 8:34am. Did not answer nor call back, am curious who the caller is though.

its going to be debt collection from one of the banks.

They are a mercantile agency - a debt collectors. If you do not have a debt, you probably have a name similar to someone who does.

they are debt collectors tell them nothing ask them for their birth date, home address and mobile number before you tell them anything about you lol

It is Collection House, yes they are a debt collection agency. They will ask you your full name, DOB, and address. If you feel uncomfortable doing that, take their number and call them back.
If you're just trying to weasel out of paying a debt, simply hang up and go about your business. Just try to remember that credit defaults follow you around for quite some time.
You may not even have a debt with them, they may simply be looking for someone with the same name as you.

Just remember what you did about your debts when 3-4 years from now you're trying to finance a new car/house/mobile phone/rental application and getting knocked back from everyone. These days, even moving to the UK or NZ won't get you out of paying a debt. Most times they're just looking for a payment arrangement from you. They may demand that you pay in full, but most people can't. Tell them your sob story and make a payment arrangement.

I had them just call me and they said they were calling from Collection House - they wanted me to confirm my DOB before they would tell me anything further. It then turned out to be about someone with the same name as the DOB didn't match.
I asked how they got my number (weas my mobile) and they said that they did a search and my name came up in Victoria.
I still think it's a bit odd....

They are a collection mercantile agency called Collection house based in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne

They called me today asking for a 'Clinton Moffett' or something similar. After stating they had the wrong number they asked if I knew that person.

SMS is sent requesting call-back to the complaint number and quotes a first name eg: RODNEY my case. call us answered in genetic fashion ie: no company babe stated. asks for "full name date of birth" "before we start". when asked company babe/to whom I was speaking, operator refused to answer. when asked 2/3 times further, operator refused then eventually answers "RODNEY". when requested info was refused without company name or call reason identified, operator became agitated and made verbal threat. backyarders spouting empty threats and acting tough. ignore, block SMS source number and report here.
