Had a call from 07 3017 3999, answering machine picked up the number, no message was left. No more than a couple of seconds later there was a call from a private number (more than likely associated with the 07 number.

Asked who was calling, they asked if Mr C. was home, asked again who was calling, he gave his first name and asked if Mr C. was home. Asked where he was calling from, he replied "calling from?". I asked what company, he was hesitant in telling me, I asked again and he finally said HBSC.

Now I don't own them any money, never had an account with them but they seem to relish in harassing me with calls asking for Mr C. even after I've told them time and time again he's not contactable at “MY” home number.

Looks as though I’ll have to change my number AGAIN due to dumb sh*t's who don't comprehend the meaning of a “person is not contactable at this number”, and “I don't know where he is!” Honestly you would think they would get a clue.

One saving grace though, a least I know never to bank with them!

Just had a call from this number looking for Jamie C and asking me if he lived at this address.  I would not comment and asked her if she was from a debt collector and she hesitated and said no - a finance company- same thing in my eyes.  When I asked her why she was calling my number she said she found it in white pages.  My phone is listed but my initials do not start with J.  She also asked whether Jamie C was a relative of mine and I would not comment once again

Had a phone call from these people just today, claiming to be someone from Lion Finance. I have never dealt with Lion Finance before, so have no idea why they would be calling me. As far as I am aware, they are debt collectors..

I have just had this number call me. I didn't take the call because I am Vodafone customer using international roaming for a visit from Australia to New Zealand. Receiving calls costs me $1 minute so I didn't take the call.
I flew here yesterday on Jetstar. The departure gate my flight used had HSBC advertising the length of the walk way. Last night Jetstar emailed me a survey of my experience as a customer with them with the chance to win an iPad. I completed it and to enter the iPad draw I needed to include my email and mobile number. I wouldn't normally but this time I did. I don't remember this detail for sure or weather it was part of the Jetstar ticket purchase from their website but I may also have consented to them sending me(or their partner companies) sending me promotional offers.

Just had a phone call from this number. I was hesitant to answer the phone because I didn't recognise the number. Anyway I answered. He told me that he was from something finance, I couldn't really make out what he was saying as he wasn't clear. He just kept asking me to confirm my date of birth. I kept saying no as I do not wish to give my details over the phone to someone I don't know. So he asked my date of birth and got it wrong, so I said sorry this sounds like a scam so I'm getting off the phone. He gave me no information about why he was calling.

Had a call from this number two weeks ago asking to speak with a staff member (they gave a name) - told the caller that the staff member in question hasn't worked here in MONTHS. They asked if the staff member would be returning, told them no. They have called again twice since then - apparently can't get the message.
Caller did not say who they were or where they were from, wouldn't give details as it is "personal" - gave a reference number to give to the person.... Why I don't know, as we have no reason to contact that person.

Just received a call from this number, from the prefix I deduct it must be a Qld number I am in Sydney; the caller said his name was Nelson from Lion Finance, he kept asking me to confirm my date of birth, I have never had anything to do with this "finance company" and I wasn't about to give any information out, I suspect it is part of scheme trying to get information out of unsuspecting victims. When I asked what was about kept asking for my date of birth I hanged up

Got a phone call from this number today while shopping, they ask if they could speak to blah blah  I said speaking and she say hi this is her name and then said she was a finance company and needed to talk to me about some stuff and I'm like yer ok and she goes so I can reveal the imfomation I have I need to make sure I have the correct person and I'm like ok she ask for my date of birth so I give it and she goes I'm sorry it dosnt match so you can't be the person I'm looking for to talk to and I was stunned to think some one around the same age as me had the exact including my middle name but was born on a different date spun me out but I was like well I know I don't owe any money to anyone so there ya go. Spinny lol

Got a call from these guys today - they were after my next door neighbour. Asked me to take message next door after getting my phone number from my address online... How rude - how inappropriate - sounds illegal!

These people contacted my mother last week, asking to speak to my brother who passed away 8 months ago.  She advised as such and they said they were actually trying to get in contact with a friend of his.  My mum gave them my number thinking it was a legitimate call (and because I am still in touch with this friend) and Mahalia rang me today asking for a contact number.  I advised the number I had and she said "that is the number that I have been trying for over a year but it just rings out".......not correct! She then asked for work contact details which I did not provide.  I have spoken to my friend and he has no idea who this is and I suspect it is a dodgy call.  Beware of giving out details if they contact you!

Has several missed calls from this number. When I called back they were from lion finance but no record of my number. They called back a few days later asking for an Adam

I have also received a call (x6) from Lion Finance on this number, plus a Melbourne based number (03 96104585). They are saying that they purchased my personal bank loan & that it is now a debt & no longer a loan (claiming that total amount is to be paid in full immediately)...yeah right...I'm broke, but prepaired to fully repay my debts through regular installments (as per my original loan).
These guys are absolute parasites. They buy loans from financial institutions at reduced rates and demand higher sums be paid back to them by the debtor (us!) in the hope of making a profit from your misfortunes.
Rude, aggressive and full of loaded questions & demands like "Don't you want to pay your debt off", "Don't you want a good credit rating", "You need to sell your car and give us all the money from it right now" (my only mode & option of transport = no car = no work = no money = no ability to repay debt), etc...
At no time did I enquire, request, or provide consent to them for their involvement in my financial affairs...very angry at my banks betrayal (I've only been with them for 30+ years!), and defaulted only twice through external & unforseeable circumstance...but neither party want's to know or cares about the circumstance...

When you get into bad debt the companies you owe money to will sell your debts to Lion Finance, Lion Finance then will hunt you down to collect the debt.

The law is you didn't borrow money from debt collectors this means they have no right to harass you for money you owe someone else. If they insist on harassing you then get a retraining order on them :) it will stop them dead on their quest to harass you.

They are the lowest debt collectors in the industry. Lion Finance are the final company to buy your debt and they will do anything they can to confirm that this is your number or address so they can serve you final notice.

Yea, got a call from this number, they had my name and address( from internet search), asked if I know XYZ from another unit in this 80 unit block, I didn't.Asked if I could give them a message Please call Mr DEF on a toll free no, quote ref !@#$%^&, initially thought I may be helping my near neighbour, but now realise this company wanted me to assist them by harassing and embarrassing the neighbour. I didn't give the message. If they call again I'm on the Don't Phone Register so their braking the law.

This is Lion Finance - they use various numbers from all over Australia to confuse you. Their other numbers are 02 49087288, 08 8217 0000 and mobiles such as +61438465101.  Basically, don't answer any call whose number you don't recognise. Genuine callers will ALWAYS leave a message - these guys won't.  If you do get caught, deny the debt, don't give your details over the phone to anyone.  They will continue to harass you by phoning your work (if they know where you work), your neighbours, your family, your friends, anyone who may live near you or used to live near you.  They use the internet, electoral rolls, car registrations etc to find you.  Simply don't answer their questions, you have no guarantee they are who they say they are and you have no loan contract with them.  You can always lie, give random dates of birth (but remember what you told them) and random middle names.  Let them fry I say, they are the lowest form of life on earth and don't care about anything except money - you can be dying, being in the middle of cancer treatment, they don't care - they will continue to harass you until you crack.   But, they only have 6 years from the last loan payment or the last time you acknowledged the debt.  The debt is non recoverable after that 6 years and if they phone you after that, it is illegal.

Germs masquerading as a FInance Company.  Will call any know numbers, friends or family and say they are a friend of yours or from Lion (Lying) Finance company.  Ask to confirm date of birth and all that bull [***].  Grubs, that is all.  

They are a publicly listed company.  Biggest collection agency in Australia.  have a problem, complain to the Ombudsman.  FOS.ORG.AU
