I blocked my number and redialed and an answering service said ...
    Plasma Tech Digital Solutions.
Looked up the website and this is what they have to say about themselves.
"....We are a company that aim to provide venues and outlets throughout Australia the ultimate in-house entertainment system, providing you with the latest digital direct marketing solution and also the ability to deliver up to date messages to all of your customers. And its all completely FREE OF CHARGE our products will never cost you a cent or take up any of your valuable time...."

Dont really know why they are calling, probably some sort of sales campaign.
Hope this helps all those who keep getting calls from them with no messages like myself.

You must work for them Paul. My advice- read the very fine print which locks you into a rolling contract. That is if you dont give them a minimum of 12 months notice you will keep getting locked into a two year contract. Not to mention there disgusting customer service. Lots of unhappy advertisers out there. Beware & be cynical in this instance!!! SCAM

I got a call from this number four times since last week looking for my boss, who is away. I keep asking the caller her details so that I can get my boss to call her back but everytime when I asked her she will quickly hang up the phone. If this is a company, very bad customer service. If not, then it is likely to be a some marketing campaign or scam.

I actualy do work for PDS and I can assure you, it's not a scam. I used to work for telstra and actualy quit due to it being so dodgy. I refuse to sell a product that I believe has no benefit. The reason the girl probably hung up is because we leave countless messages and nobody ever returns the call and 90% of receptionists are just rude and hang up anyway. The numbers get called over and over because they are entered into a system that aitomatically dials. Answering the phone and saying "sorry I'm not interested" is fine, we don't like to pressure anyone into anything, we won't fight if you say no. People need to realize that telemarketers are people too and we tolerate alot more then we need to from extremely rude people, but we make an absolute killing out of it so that's why it's done. It's not hard to use manners and be polite guys!

Same as Fiona - I returned the missed call and the recorded message says it is a disconnected number - obviously a scam.

Missed a call from this number and a muffled message was left. - I also used my retun call feature and a recorded message from Telstra says that it is a disconnected number. Weirdos.

Thanks for this service. Have a good day.

Jess, Telemarketers come uninvited. It's their problem if they get rude receptions. No sympathy. (I am not rude to them btw)

Its a spam call for website design.  It says disconnected when you try and call back, so that says it all. Avoid

Firstly I would like to respond to the 3 people who have actually had experience dealing with PDS.

"Paul" (15 / 3 / 2011) _ I can not deny that there is the potential for this organisation to provide you with a service that may benefit your business (as an advertiser). Please make sure you read the Contract carefully and be aware of the implications!!!!!

    "fedup" (24 / 3 / 2011) _ I wish I had read your comment  when it was posted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd love to have a chat with the "unhappy advertisers" you mentioned. (or anyone with similar views)

"Jess" (18 / 11 / 2011) _ I feel sorry for you. I understand that you are just doing your job. I hope you get a chance to read the contract pertaining to those considering advertising their business with PDS and in future be sure to fully explain its terms. (Sorry, it may detrimentally affect your sales. Then again, your honesty may win you trust and therefore sales... Good Luck)

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:   I'M A SUCKER!!!
NB/ I understand that this is only my experience & may not be representative of other people's experiences.
I was "cold called" by a representative of PDS who walked into my shop. I was introduced to the idea of advertising my business in my choice of a selection of venues. I'll be honest, I liked the idea. I was then called or visited every other day for about a month until I signed the contract. I have no proof, but before I signed the 2 year contract I asked the representative what would happen if my business closed or I could not afford to pay... He told me that "my add would be removed and that was that". WRONG!
I signed the contract believing that I was in for 2 years regardless.
Since my initial artwork was approved I have received no further correspondence from PDS. I assumed that that my add was running in the venues that I had selected.
After the 2 year contract expired PDS continued to debit my account. I contacted the company to ask why and was rudely told to read my contract.
PDS requires 12 months notice to cancel a contract even after the initial 2 years has expired!
Yes, I was stupid for not reading the contract properly!!
There are a couple of other concerns that I would like to mention however they may only be particular to my experience with PDS. To that end I have employed the services of a lawyer, prepared a letter for the ACCC and ASIC, and am considering the appropriate course of action.

I'm not saying... "Don't advertise with them". I'm saying "Be aware of the terms of the contract that you may be asked to sign".
