It's the Surf Life Saving lottery in QLD.  They don't let up once they start calling you.  Phone the lottery and ask for your number to be removed.....and then phone again when the calls start again.  You have sold your soul to them when innocently buying a raffle ticket.

yes and the worst thing is you think OMG ive won, but all they want is for you to buy more tickets.

Maybe instead of calling them to get your number removed, try calling them and helping them out?  Those guys do an amazing job and their call centre staff are helping to save lives.

I agree Matt, these guys do an awesome job and I don't mind support them when I can. Plus the chance to win a house on the Sunshine or Gold Coats. Even better!!

they called me also but hung up once i answered!! so glad i didn't waste my money calling them back just to be hassled to buy more tickets. if i wanted more i would buy them, dir!!! they must try and get people to call them back so their call doesn't cost much, however don't they know they are tax deductible

I just received a call from them as well, although the only time I bought a ticket for them was last year in about August or September.  I didn't answer the call, as I never answer calls from numbers I do not know.  Thank you to everyone else who posted to identify this call.

Yeah they just hung up on me as soon as I answered.

I am pretty sure its the same people that do it to my friend aswell.

I've received about six calls from that number since I commented on the 10th of April.  Just received one this afternoon.

this is a good site. i thought i might have won something but not now. And the surf club want a fortune for there tickets.

well, i thought as much...  I won't be calling the number back, I am on the DNC Register and although I believe in being charitable I also believe I should chosse the charities and not be approached woth pesty phonecalls

Got a missed call from that number today. Now that I know who it is, I won't answer.

Wazza Wow sold your soul, thats a bit over the top, Surf Life Saving is a charity and they need funds to be able to keep saving lives, how hard is it to say yes or no and the call is over in 30 seconds .............bet you dont mind being rescued when the Surf Rips you out to near death.

I am one of those SLSF call centre operators, we dont hang up and try to trick people into calling us, in fact when you call us back after a missed call we offer to call you back, the Surf Life Savers rescued 14 thousand people last swim season, I bet there are 14 thousand very grateful families out there, its not only about the rescues its about the first aid offered on all beaches, its the hellicopter that is out and about on call 24/7 they do a great job so why not support them, it could be worse mate it could be a call from an overseas call centre where you cant understand them nor get them off your phone, we are a very polite soft sell call centre and we cop a lot and I mean a lot of flack from people who simply dont know how to say know or ask to be taken off the call list, we callers are human too and we all love and are proud of who we work for and support, try being nice to us for once on the phone you might just have a nice conversation. And remember when swimming on the beaches, if we cant see you we cant save you so SWIM BETWEEN OUR RED AND YELLOW FLAGS ........Have a nice day all

Well, shazza, why don't you apply by the federal and state legislation and adhere to the DNC register?

I constantly give money, and am on the DNCR, and have requested that my number be removed, however I still get calls all the time.

All of the other charities I donate to appear to be fine with adhering to the DNCR, why not yours?

Jeez guys,have a heart,can you imagine our beaches without the lifesavers,how many people would have to die before authorities stepped in and shut the beaches down or had lifesavers on wages which would have to come from our taxes or rates,wether you use the beach or not,they"re still the cheapest and best value tickets around and once you've got your tickets they leave you alone,unlike other lotteries.So come on Australia and support the boys and girls on the beach,they are dedicated volunteers after all.
