have had 8 calls from this number this week, have no idea who they are and why they keep calling me

Got a few from this one as well.

Called them back from a land line and got "The Australian Call Centre". Didn't explain what they do, just put me in a queue. Hung up right away. "Call Centre" was all I had to hear. Screw em...

I also called back and got "The Australian Call Centre".

I hung up and added it to my block list.

They said they were Nest Egg or something or other when I asked who they were? could not really understand her

Just got a call from them. They talked about an information seminar for home owners (government incentives, mortgage tips etc). I guess they're a call centre who do these calls for other companies. Since I am not a home owner I had a good excuse to hang up ;)

They told me free consultant about finance in hotel.
And the guy said he call me from australia haha

they've been calling almost on a daily basis!!

They ask you to hold on the line - and press a few buttons on your phone, You're on the phone for less than a minute and then you'll see that you have been charged about $200 for a 4-hour mobile call! And the call wasn't even taken on your mobile - but your home phone number

This number calls my house up to 4 times a day most days. I never pick up. But it is really bugging me. And just now I checked my messages and I have what sounds like someone trying to talk in a scary voice but I can not understand what they are saying at all. I have no idea what's going on. I had a missed call from this number and a private one so I am not sure which it came from. But still I feel unsettled. And I am going crazy with this number harrasing me every day.

My calls from this number started today morning and afternoon during my babies sleep time - very annoyed - how do you block these numbers?

I have been bombarded by this number. The I got a $213 bill from my mobile phone provider for calling them, I did not call them. I don't know how this happened but I am furious. Fortunately my provider waived the bill, but I don't know how to block the number.

My number is not listed. Actually, I changed my number 3 weeks ago because of these scammers who had my name. They still call, now I'm Ms. Bowman, apparently (must have been Ms. Bowman's number).
Today they rang again about a retirement seminar at my local Leagues club of which I am a member.
Checked with the club - rubbish! They know nothing about it, wanted this number so they could follow it up as to who is using their name. Bet they won't be able to find it.

Maybe they can put some pressure on the politicians or somebody to stop these horrible people. Best of luck to them. Since changing my number, in three weeks, I've had 41 calls from various numbers, all of which are on these lists.

I hope somebody can track them down and put them out of business - pleeeeese!

Also getting about a call a day from this number but I haven't . Hopefully no big bill. Needs to be stopped though

Thank you, I notice you posted my last message 19 times. This morning, I stumbled on the 'I am an Indian too" video which is hilarious. Can I please make a couple of suggestions about this ridiculous phone scamming?
Can you link all of your callers to this video? I'm not clever enough, else I would. It brings a sense of reality.
Can you reverse the list of comments and put the last first? People read the comments from 2007 and don't get to the most current.
I have turned off my answering machines on both my landline and mobile. If the call is answered, somebody pays for it. I have turned off caller ID,saves me $6/mth because these guys now say 'Private' which is useless.
I have turned off the ringtones on both my landline and mobile.My mobile will record missed calls.
I have told my friends and contacts to send an email. Emails don't ring.
These people are diabolical. I'll get around them. They are just too clever. Fight fire with fire, they say.

Hey, guys, it seems to have worked. I'm not getting my hopes up but I've not had an ID recorded phone call since 25 August. After 50 calls in 3 weeks, it is extremely encouraging that I have had none in almost two. It appears to me that it is the answering facility that keeps them ringing, in hope, somebody will answer, sometime. I actually pulled my landline from the socket for 2/3 days. I have now replaced the phone into the socket and guess what? No calls from them. I'll have to tell my friends, it's OK to ring now.
Seems to me that they get paid if they 'appear' to be talking to somebody, whether they get the required info or not, must be highly stressful for them. If they start again, I'll do the same thing,
I realise this won't sort out everyone's grief but is another avenue to explore.

Last one.
I just received my Telstra bill which showed this number as Southport Qld. I did make a call to check them out and left a message. I've been charged $1.20 for the call for speaking to machines.
Rang Telstra. They could not tell me if this number was really Southport, Qld., they could not tell me whose number it is, they could not find ACC - Australian Call Centre.
This number has now disappeared from some of these lists.
What is going on? Who knows what here? It is questionable to say the least.
Since making this call and removing the answering messages from my phones, I have had no calls from any of the dodgy numbers that have been calling me incessantly.

I've already started to forget this nonsense, hope they find another source of income. I suggest WORK for an honest dollar.

This number keeps calling my mobile

This number has been calling my mobile for almost a year, sometimes 4 times a day, occasionally I might get a week without a call.  So far, I have never answered, and they have never left a message.

I was curious how long they would keep trying, am starting to think forever!
