This number called me tellijmg me he needed help and that he has Aspergers. Dont know if its genuine or not

i just had text from above number from "jonathon" and said he was sick and had been crying alot.
good job i'm synical and looked the number up!
dont reply as very much a scam

Also received a text from this number today (09/07/09) to my company mobile: "I dailled ur number at random. me name is jonathon. no swearing. i have asperger its like autism a disability and i been crying a bit. i need friends"

Clearly spam.

Received exactly the same message from 'jonathon' saying he has been crying - I dread to think what type of scam this is, and could certainly prey on vulnerable people.

Exactly the same msg - I've had it twice, despite having changed my phone number only very recently. What type of scam is this?

just got the text (8th oct 09) , exctly the same as everyone else. i dont give my number out, i dread to think where they have got it from. all i can suggest is to contact your network provider and get the number blocked.

Had the same text as everyone else, surely it has to be a scam, wouldn't reply but its interestingly like others, this came through on a business mobile. Maybe the scammer thinks business phones are less likely to care about thier bills!! Don't know how the scam works but also don't want to be the one to find out!!

Got this one today, was tempted to send a barrage of abuse back but blocked the [***] instead!

had the same msg as you guys and mine is a normal phone not business. wot ever you do dnt reply to these msgs unless you know the person from your phonebook. just shows how sad people can get!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just received the same text (23rd Jan 2010)  anyone know why this guy does this? My other half replied (before we read these comments) and "johnathon" replied saying "yep" so it must be a real person the other end... We rang vodafone as after reading all the comments as we were worried, but they said that no one could get anything fron the phone or anything from a text.
Its freaked me out a bit! I dont understand what someone could get from it?

I also received it this morning too (26th Jan '10), how strange! Ill do the same and block it. Thought it was jsut a winde up, but ye, don't get what they get out of it, unless they charge a great fee to txt back that goes straight to them, so ye, dont txt bak I say. Just block them! Im also vodafone though, so wondering if it is a voda thing or not?

...Also I forgot to add that about an hour after I got the 'Jonathan' msg, a guy called 'Jonathan Worrall' added me on facebook and we have no friends in common, and he only has scenic pictures, and mainly gilrs as his 1500 friends, could be a coincidence, but didnt risk it so ignored his request!very strange...

I received this on 4th Feb 2010. Exact same message as above. Freak.

I've had my number less than a month, and I've received the same text.

Anyone know how they are getting your numbers?

Got the same messsage. Just deleted it. Lots of Vodaafone users..

Yep recieved exact same message today (13th march)  Am also on Vodafone.  They have probably sold the number?  Odd scam though - I don't see how they can gain anything from it?
