- LeeThese scum call themselves the "Financial Services Helpline" and continously ring me leaving automated messages. I caught one yesterday and pressed 2 to be put through to an operator. I started off friendly, and then asked for the operator's number. I asked her how she'd feel being spammed like this. She got shirty with me and told me that it was an automated dialler. Automated my a*se. My advice?
When they ring, press 2 and give them some spiel to waste their time - waste as much as possible. I'm registered with the TPS and these "companies" have no regard for that. Make them regret it.- Caller: "Financial Services Helpline"

Had same crew calling about accident claims - all recorded message garbage.
Sign up with TPS and make a complaint about them to TPS once your registered if these dicks contact you again.
Basically they are legalised scammers - avoid at all costs - if you want free debt advice go to the links on moneysavingexpert.com such as citizens advice bureau, national debtline (ensure you get corrent site and not some other scammer site) and payplan - these are all free, remember you do not have to pay for debt advice - IT'S FREE you just got to look for it.
Up the blades- Caller: scammers
- coltkeep getting these calls, but always seem to miss it and going to voicemail, which is really annoying me. o2 says i can't block the number, i have to change my phone number - how ridiculous! So >200 people are to be inconvenienced because of 1 stupid company harassing people???
- Call type: Debt collector
- PeteSeveral calls from this number. Why on earth aren't the telecoms companies allowing us to block numbers like this?
- Matt| 1 replyI've now had a few calls from this number. Sometimes it's about debt and sometimes it's about accident claims.
It's about time there was an easily enforceable law against such obviously disreputable companies with a straightforward way of reporting them.- Call type: Debt collector
- Kate replies to MattI have umpteen mobile texts and calls to both my mobile and landline from numerous debt clearance companies over the last 2 to 3 months. They seem to come in fits and starts. If I get one I know it will be followed by a couple of others.
I ask them to repeat who they are and what the company does. I then ask why they're calling me as I have never had any debt. We don't even have a mortgage, now having been fortunate it enough to pay it off about 6 years ago. I have a very nasty tone in my voice and tell them to remove me from their list immediately.
I am always very careful to tick the box that I don't want info passed on to third parties or any marketing mail. I am also registered with TPS. However one of the companies said the they couldn't possibly have all my info, name, address & DOB if I hadn't agreed to this, so I guess I must have messed up somewhere.
I obtained online quotes from price comparison and insurance co. websites in mid Jan for travel insurance, and again in mid Feb for house insurance. I also registered my details with my local council on the electoral roll around the start of the year. I am sure it is something to do with that.
I call screen all my calls and the number of dead line calls I get when it goes on to the answering machine is amazing. My dad has just been diagnosed with secondary prostrate cancer and is in hospital for treatment so my mum is calling me at all different times of the day. Therefore I am picking up the phone most times nowadays expecting it to be her, only to have some idiot frpm a debt or insurance company on the line
Isn't there someone we can complain to about this harassment?
