called me everyday aint answered

I too am being plagued twice a day by this company, on my mobile phone. I added the number to the reject list, so now the phone doesn't ring, and  it just shows on the phone as a missed call.

Currently this number is being used by Axa insurance. Eventually the caller admitted they'd bought my info from a site offering free goods if you take a certain number of offers. The site is UKprizedraw.co.uk - they never give you the offered "prize" they just want your personal details! McAfee site advisors recognise this as a phishing site!
Fortunately I'd given them false info about myself, and the no.of my old mobile.

I knew from this site that Telegen were using these 0800 numbers to cover their activities, so when we got a call from "AXA" I challenged them and said "are you  from AXA or are you really from Telegen?"  They admitted they were from Telegen and hastily rang off.  Thank you Sharon for the information about ukprizedraw. Now we know where Telegen are buying our data from.

It's all illegal of course, but Telegen don't care.  Can't the Information Commissioner do anything about these people blatantly breaking the law?

Yep, they been dogging me for the last few weeks, day in, day out. Never answered.  

Decided Enough is Enough, so called them back, you get an automated recording giving you the option to remove your number from their marketing list.

That should help anyone who doesn't want to receive any further calls from this number.  Oh Make sure you don't have your caller ID disabled, as they will need it to identify your number so you can be removed from the list.

I've answered the phone calls and asked if they could take my number off the system but they refused to and i still got calls... but there is hope!!! I emailed info@telegenuk.com a few days ago and explained that i would complain about their company phoning me up at all hours etc etc and today i recieved a reply:

"Thank you for your email notifying us that you no longer wish to be contacted by Telegen UK Ltd in future marketing campaigns.  Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience our calls may have caused.  Telegen UK Ltd is a reputable company that is a member of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and is fully compliant with the DMA Telemarketing rules and OFCOM Regulations. We were calling you on behalf of one of our blue chip clients to offer you their products and services. You will have noticed when you dialed 1471 that we explained who we are and did not attempt to conceal our identity.  If you would be so kind as to provide your telephone number I will ensure it is suppressed from all future Telegen calling lists."

Therefore i would suggest that people email info@telegenuk.com and say you are sick of the phone calls and will take it further if needs be.

Who is this person, I have lost count how many calls i have now missed from them - how can i found out who they are and stop them calling me ?????

They are calling me everyday regardless of the fact i've told them several times im not intrested in what ever there selling

They have rung 15 times in a week (yes, honestly!) We pressed 1 to tell them we don't want their services but they just ignore it.  Can't anything be done to stop them?

I want to know whos number is this.. it called 3 times ang no one is answering.

Ronel - you must read Huw Slater's excellent piece on page 13 of this thread.  (did you actually read it before posting?) He makes it very clear who it is. It's the Telegen call-centre. You can press 1 to tell them you don't want further calls, but judging from the contributions from Joy Sykes (30 April) and others, it won't make much difference.

this number calls me several times a day and i discoverd its a nuisance call and not to answer it as money comes off your phone

We had about fifteen calls from this number over the last month. We called back and pressed "1" to be removed from their lists. It made no difference. Please does anyone know how they can be stopped?

they are from Axxa, because our operators gave the numbers to this insurance company. You need to ring, press 1 and you'll be off it. But they are a serious pain in the a**, i will never have an insurance with them because of that!!!

I also called this number back and it gives you the option to remove yourself from the marketing list - we'll see if it works.

Have taken myself off their calling list but they are still calling. Can we report them to somewhere?

they have called me repeatedly up to 10 times a day for the last 3 weeks. i haven't answered it and they haven't left a message. annoyed, i answered the phone today and was greeted by axa ppp life insurance. i'm 25. i don't need life insurance. they said i'd applied for their plan via a survey or competition i'd completed in the last 3-4 months, and refused to stop talking about the plan even though i said i didn't have time to talk about it and had immediately requested to be removed from their database. i had to interrupt her another couple of times to ask to be removed from their database. time will tell whether they will stop calling me!

We had many calls from Telegen, claiming to be ringing "on behalf of AXA". We mailed them and told them to stop.  They mailed back with exactly the same message as Holly Anne (see 28 April) but the calls are still coming. We have also written a complaint to AXA. Does anyone know how Telegen can be stopped?
