They literally just called me too. I googled the number as it was an 0800 one. I won't answer either. They're really going for it aren't they haha.

I had the same call and have been told they are called books direct i dont answer it anymore because they phoned me many times and then after that they said they are called AIG Life an insurance company (sponsors manchester united)
if they call leave it or just answer but dont speak

These Telegen people keep on ringing our fourteen year old daughter whenever my husband and I are out, which is a bit worrying.  I have tried ringing them back but I just get a recorded voice telling me to press 1 to stop them ringing again. I have pressed 1 but it makes no difference. We are on TPS and ex-directory.  This is becoming sinister and seems like harassment. Please does anyone know how they can be stopped? I am considering going to the police.

They called me about half an hour ago on my mobile waking me up from my nap.
said they were  axa ppp life insurance and said i had a free year or something. they new my name and the first few lines of my address. and then asked me to confirm my postcode. they said i will get something through the post.
really annoyed because if i hadnt just woken up i wouldnt have given them my postcode.

I get atleast three calls a day from this number, I haven't yet answered!! But I'm really starting to get annoyed now.

They have phoned me twice today, and i just ignored it.  Thanx everyone, now at least I know who is calling me.  Not sure where these people get our numbers from.

I keep getting these calls early in the AM an Late at night im seriously fed up....do you have the number so i can shout at em??

Laura - for a very full explanation of who these people are and how to contact them see page 13 of this thread.  However, I don't think you'll get far.  There are hundreds of complaints about them and they will not give up.

There are hundreds of complaints about this Telegen call centre on www.whocallme.com and a lot on other sites too.  We all know who they are. Why can't Ofcom do anything to stop them? They appear to be untouchable. Surely the companies they claim to represent (AXA/AIG/Eurochance etc) must be fed up with the bad publicity it's getting them. Very interesting analysis ono page 13 of this thread.

I just answered. And they new my full name. So I told them this phone doesn't belong to anyone called Laura, and they put the phone down. So I guess that's the way to get rid of them. Try it [:

I got a call from this number about a week ago. I answered and she said they were some company (think it was AXA) calling about confirming the free dental plan I'd registered for. They knew my full name and email address and said they had my home address. They said they'd got my details through some websit called fairexchange.co.uk. I've never been on this website. I told them I wasn't interested and that was that.

No calls for a couple of days.

Then a couple of days ago this number started ringing again. They ring off so quickly that I don't even have chance to answer them. They ring about three times a day!

We had calls from these people and when we rang them they said their name was Telegen and to press 1 to stop them calling again. That was a month ago and they keep ringing. Does anyone know how to stop them please?  We think that we should not have pressed 1.  It has confirmed to them that our number is "live".

If your mobile has a block number facility I fully reccommend that you use it.  Your mobile will not even ring, and the company will soon realise that the number is not live.

they get your name by you or someone in your family entering some competition
then its pressure calls..i always confuse them by saying sorry you have the investigation department here..then you take over the conversation by asking their name, address,their personal details....they soon put the phone down
any name or address's or phone numbers you give out online somehow they have access to it..dont give out any personal detail unless you no for sure who you are talking to..don't let it worry you...next time you get a call and you dont no who it is..you ask the question and their personal details...there soon hang up...have a happy day

I have had a three missed calls from this number. I knew they were phoning me but i refuse to answer if i don't no who is calling.
Be aware though because it will be someone trying to get information off you that is not actually needed.
I have had 2 missed calls in the afternoon and one in te morning. Also i never give my number out s i dont no how they have got my number!!

They've been calling me all week claiming to be AXA saying i requested they ring which i know i did not. I answered the first time and said i was looking after my sisters phone. Checked out the number and hit this site. They have been calling my mobile every day since usually aroound 7pm though i just reject the call.
I don't intend on giving them any information though i am curious to know exactly what info they have on me? Think i might play along for a bit until I find out.

Had calls from these Telegen people and actually got someone on the other end!  We asked them to stop ringing but they ignore it.  I suppose we did the wrong thing talking to the guy because now they know its a "live" number.  How can we stop them? Anyone know?
