I have had multiple missed calls from this number over the past week or so, the calls which I did pick up had no-one on the other end, until last night when someone spoke to me saying I had requested a "free Health care" package from AXA health insurance, or something, I said I had not made such a request and asked what it was for. The guy on the phone quoted to me my email address, and wanted to confirm my details. I did not disclose any details, and asked whether they required credit card details to claim the "free" cover promotion they were offering. Apparently not, because it was "free" but when I checked the number he was calling from, and pointed out that I had had many missed calls from that number and looked it up on the internet he hung up before I could question him. very odd. needless to say I have rung the number and removed myself from their marketing list. If anyone gets a call from these people I would recommend ringing the number back asap otherwise they will pester you non-stop!

We had a lot of these calls over the last few weeks so I googled it and got to this site. What a marvellous site! So I knew it was this horrible call centre.  The last time they rang I picked it up and when they said they were AXA I said "are you sure you're not from Telegen?". He put the phone down quick and they havent rung again. They don't seem to like it when you show that you know who they really are.

Same with me - calling me 4-6 times a day.  Haven't answered (and won't) but love to know who these people are.

I keep receiving calls from this number and a few other similar numbers. I've had a ridiculous amount of calls and won't answer the phone. I've just rung them back to try and remove my number from their list - listen to the message you'll hear, doesn't sound very professional, you can hardly hear what they are saying!! Seriously dodgy and very very annoying.

Back on page 3 a writer named Huw Slater provided all the information about Telegen and their call centre, together with the way to stop them.  It would be best if we all took his advice and reported this load of ****s. If everyone who has been affected reported it, the menace could be stopped. I got calls last week from one of their other numbers - 08000927203 - and I have reported it.  Why not join me?

I answered eventually, having previously cancelled dozens of calls. The guy at the end of the phone said he was from AXA and was going to register my free policy I'd applied for and just needed the details from me. I told him immediately that I hadn't applied for a free policy and he said I registered interest on www.ukprizedraw.co.uk. I may have entered a competition with this site but definitely didn't register for an AXA policy. Anyway, this company may well have got our details from entering a competition with this site. Not sure if anyone else has reported that yet?

Justin - these calls are linked to that competition you mentioned. The offender is called Telegen and they operate on 08000927201 (gambling/competitions) and 08000927203 and 0800927204 and 08009121695 and 08009121698. If only everyone would report it to OFCOM. These people are a curse. If you are not convinced, just look at some of those other numbers and the complaints about this company.

i am being called at least twice everyday, for the past 2-3 weeks it is becoming very annoying, is there nothing we can do to stop these people

Called me today at 11.19am. Very annoyed I am, as I have changed my mobile number TWICE in the last month due to malicious calls I am getting, due to another matter and personal numbers. The police are investigating my mobile, but how have this company got hold of it. The police  and my mobile provider will be giving them a warning. So disgusting this is.

This number called me-i'm not going to get scammed in anyway am I? Like extra money put on my bill that sort of thing?

This number has just been ringing me. They have rang me a couple of times in the past, but i never answer numbers i dont recognise. But they seemed persistant so I thought id check out there number on the internet. Im glad I found this site. Any way of making them STOP CALLING ME?

We just had another call from this company, the fifth this week.  They always ring four times then stop. It takes us a little longer than that to get to the phone. We had already consulted this site and knew it was Telegen so when we got this fifth call I was ready to give them an earful. How can these annoying people be stopped?  I shall now follow the advice of an earlier contributor and tell Ofcom.

Called me again today 11.11am. I am so fed up. Keeping a log of the calls and giving them to the nuisance calls bureau of the police.

We have lost count of the calls we have had from these people over the past few weeks. Neither my husband nor I have had anything to do with insurance companies, gambling sites or anything else connected with Telegen, so its just cold calling. We are now taking the advice of an earlier contributor and are reporting this to Ofcom and the police.

i have received a few calls from this number.  the first i missed, the second i answered and there was no one on the other end.  the third call there was a fellow on the other end telling me that i had signed up for AXA health care on the internet.  when i said that i don't recall signing up for this he said that a lot of customers forget that they do.  i definitely haven't requested health care over the internet as i am in the UK for a short time and will only use the public health system.  
the fellow then went onto ask for more of my details.  at this stage i said to him that i had read the comments on the internet about calls from his number and that i knew that this was a dodgy phone call to get information out of me and that i wanted to be removed from their calling list.  after i said all of this he very promptly hung up.  i think it all seemed very strange.

I was getting two calls a day from this number. They rang a couple of hours ago and I took the call, said "I am not interested in what you are selling. Do not call this number again." We will see if this works.

Telegen originaly tried calling from this number, then they started using another of their numbers - 01273341404.

I called 01273341404 last week (13 Mar 2008) and went through the menu options to remove my number from their list, and wow! I've not been called since.

Either it works or they got bored!

I would happily support a campaign to have this company closed down. Their persistance of calling (twice a day for a week) is well within my definitiaon of a nusiance.

I've already lodged a compliaint with OfCom, the more of us that do the more likely things will eventually change.

Sadly the OfCom rules appear to be designed to stop silent calls, not persistant unanswered calls.
On the upside they do require the company to remove a number from the list without be marketed to.

This number phoned me twice a day starting on sunday night. I think it charges you as well when you answer!! Luckily I have no credit so it just hangs up

This number is driving me nuts. Its still foning me after my last comment. Ive tried the removing my number thing and it hasnt worked. Gonna fone again and try and sound a lot more p'd off than i did the last time.
