got a call from this number, claimed to be someone called network research,wanted to speak to my wife on behalf of her bank,hung up when challenged as to why

I get calls to my landline from this number:08000 128015, followed immediately to my mobile by the number 0161 429 3337.I think it is one of those those companies who are making money out of people who have been mis-sold payment protection insurance for loans and they are doing my head in.I have lifted the landline and been ignored.I am going to ask my phone providers to block the numbers from my landline and mobile.

I had a phone cal from 0800128015 about 8pm this evening asking to speak to my daughter.  I replied that she was not here and asked if I could help.  I was told that it was a survey from her  bank and they would call back tomorrow night about 6pm.  When I asked if they could tell me which bank they were I was told that they do not give out that type of information to anyone other than the person they wish to speak to.  I told them that neither my daughter or myself are prepared to discuss banking matters over the phone and hung up.  Our bank, if they find it necessary to phone, always identify themselves immediately the phone is answered.  This is not the first time this number has called.

I has two calls from this number now and after reading these comments I won't be answering it, thank you everyone for posting your comments

I had a call from these guys, they said they were calling on behalf of my bank, but would not tell me who i banked with, they said because of the date protection act, she wanted to ask my questions on the service i had received, i said fine i would call them back on the banks main number, she made excuse about being a different number and then hung up, i am posting this on as many forums as i can so nobody get caught out... think it is some sort of scam...

Aren't these telephones that show the number who is calling wonderful. 08000128015 called today. Saw the number, didn't recognise it, didn't answer. Let it go through to the answer machine, as soon as the answer machine kicks in they hang up. Hope they had to pay for the call.

0800128015 has given me silent phone calls from a computerised call logging system for up to two months now, I eventually got a bloke on the line claiming to be from a lancashire based PPI claims company.
Whete ever, whomever this number is, clearly from the various comments below its a phone scam line and not to be trusted, suggest we all report it to the loical phone company and ask that it be referred to police fraud investigators.

Just had a call from 0800 0128015.  It was a silent call.  I didnt hear any clicks liek you do on some call centre ones that bulk dial but then go dead when someone else answers the call before you.  This just stayed silent for about a minute before clicking off.

Did 1471 and it didnt work as the line was still in use.  

I was stuck unable to use my landline for 10 minutes or so.  Eventually they cleared the line and I did 1471 to see it was these idiots!

Had a call from this number just now. Didn't answer and looked the number up here. What did I find!!!

As others have already realised it is a scam. Got a call at 8 00 pm calling from 'the bank' Usaul rubbish about data protection etc. All reputable banks will say who they are. They are trading on people knowing that 'real' banks wont ask for passwords etc but forget that they will say who they are.  I didnt have any 1471 problems chasing the scamers perhaps I was lucky

First world issues.

Just had a phone call from this number asking for my husband by name. I asked who was calling and was told his bank and when I asked which bank I was told they would only discuss that with my husband. I terminated the call!

all these people ring at all times ...... now i just  scream down the phone... i think we should all do this then they will go away

had loads of calls from this company haven't answered any yet as I guested it was a scam

Got the same call as everyone else. Good job I was in the bath. The cheeky cow asked my partner when it would be convenient to ring back. They're a ruddy nuisance.

recently had a call from this number when I hung up it blocked my line for several minutes so I couldn't dial out. I didn't redial it in case it was a scam call just to get money added to my bill,

And today, they rang and asked for me by name, saying it was about my energy supplier.

Rang several times said they were my bank to complete a survey - told them not convenient they asked for alternative time to call  so ignored the number! but they just keep trying!!
