voicemail from some company claiming to be called mailsave saying they are trying to get some confidential mail sent out to me and to call 08001601532 quoting a ref number.  The number they called from was +448001601532 which is odd as i presume the call came from the uk and i am in the uk, probably trying to get round phone number blocks

devious debt collection agency for sure. block delete or avoid

yeah I just had a call from them and they said if I confirm my date of birth for security check, they can tell me who the item of mail is from.

Why would you need my date of birth to tell me who mymail is from? Also, why would you even know that yourself?

He told me the company was Epingham and asked me if I knew them and I said "No" (I do actually know them), to which he sounded a bit surprised. So then he offered to transfer me through to the company to speak to them so they could tell me what was in the letter they were sending??

Very dodgy indeed.

left a voicemail from 08001601532  claiming they have a letter for me but need my address in order to deliver!? and to call back quoting their ref No. No doubt a debt collectors with not the most intelligent cover up. It is likely they are a tracing agency for CCA or similar.

Empingham Resolution and Negotiations.

These use very sly tactics to obtain your details. These include claiming to have returned post for you and calling themselves Mail Safe / Mail Save. They use illegal tactics to obtain your address. Jeff, I'm onto you my friend

Got a call from Laura at mail safe. She said she had some post for my son and needed to check the address was correct and also she needed a phone number to contact him about it. She gave her phone number as 08001601532 and a reference number.As my son was awaiting an important letter I thought that was it and gave the details.
We found out mail safe were actually getting information deviously on behalf of a debt collection agency Empingham Resolution & Negotiation. They hadn't done their homework as my son doesn't owe them any money. Have managed to clear it up but very upsetting and worrying.
