could not understand the womans voice very clearly(maybe indian)started to give offer.i said that i couldnt understand her. she may ring back. but i am also  preferance calls from BT so how do they get the number. the caller was 08002585503 today 23/4/08

they keep ringing my house and asking for my parnter who works every day, when i asked if i could take a message they said it werent important and they worked with people from identity direct. i rang back to tell them to stop ringing and they said to ring 08002585613 to be put on a do not call list or something like it.

This number calls me on a regular basis but if I do answer, they hang up.  It is very annoying!

this number has been phoning me three times a day for over three weeks now, done everything from hanging up to talking in japanese to them (in which case they hang up ) nothing works they just call back the next day.never been a book club member but have ordered labels once from identity direct.am going to try the 0800 2585613 num to see if i can get my num barred.fingers crossed.

Rings about 3 times a day, have told them to stop ringing me but they continue. I was a member years ago of a book club and this is related to this but I am fed up with having to waste my time on these stupid people.

I've received nearly 20 of these calls in the last two weeks.  They call at all times of the day, even as late as 9pm. They don't leave a message, but haven't given up yet!

Just started to receive. There was silence at first then a bloke started speaking just as I hung up. Will let you know if anything else happens. How do I stop it?

This number has rung twice today and asked for me by name. I am a member of a book club but did not subscribe to telephone contacts.

I'm with Books Direct and I've just gone to the contact me and one of the options is to do with BCA.

I'm emailing them asking them to stop the calls.

if you call 0800 258 5613 a rather polite lady will remove your number from their records although it does take 24hrs. hope this helps.

2 missed calls on my mobile today - i'm a member of Books Direct but called to cancel my membership yesterday.  I think they must want me back!  No messages left, will expect more calls based on  what's been said.

they keep calling me too but under a different number 08002585683 i was also a memeber of the world book club but have not been for a while. when i called them they were able to bar my number from being called again.

I have had loads of calls from this number, I answered at first but there was never anyone there so i stopped answering. I took my mobile number off their website but I just received another call a minute ago! Its ridiculous!

Keep gettig silent calls from this number (late at night too which is really inconsiderate).

Driving me mad phoning at all times of the day and night.  I just ran in from the garden thinking it was my someone ringing about work, but no....just them again!  I think they just keep going till you say 'No' or words to that effect! (perhaps not as polite! LOL!)I joined TPS as I got sick of cold calling but nothing seems to stop these parasites though.  Im meant to be ex-directory as well!!!  Worst bit is that I work from home so they are doing my head in all day as I expect it to be work related and then they just hang up!  When they finally do get hold of me, I am planning on being very rude!
