OKAY...to help you all out..I used to work at telefocus a year ago and it seems they are still working BCA, couple of ways to get you off the system
1. When they ring say the person they are looking for has died
2. Be abusive: if a caller swears etc. you must take them off the list
or you can ring the TPS (telephone preference service) but i've heard many cases of people still being rung after joining.

Yep...this number has also been bugging me every day since 25/06/08...always calling me at work as well.

They are driving me crazy. Just as I get sat down with my newspaper they ring! I answer the phone and the line goes dead. Its been happening for over a week now. I am a member of a book club, is it them?!!!

This is a Company called Telefocus...they have been hounding me day and night for weeks...they are phoning me on behalf of Readers Union...today they rang every hour or so..tonight at 8pm and once at 9pm!! All to push remaindered books the publisher cannot sell at full price. If you ring telefocus on 01525 720000 they can remove your number (takes 24 hours) and no more calls...they told me number is on 133 dialing computers!! Harassment in spades! They let it ring 3 times & when you pick up they've gone...but once I did speak to a kid who phoned at 9pm....interrupted my teevee and started spouting from a script about poxy books!!!

Those calls have been driving me insane for ages, thankfully found this website, rang the number that "sophie" mentioned 01525 720000 and got Telefocus who is taking me off the list. FINALLY!!! ....Thanks to Sophie!

I only started getting these low-lifes phoning after a 'Readers Digest' subscription was gifted to me.

Could 133 of us each afford to purchase an auto-dialler and then leave them all dialling a 'certain' number each day (presumably there is a 'call-management-executive' for each of their dialling computers).  We already know that would not be illegal as BT lets THEM get away with it...

They call me 4-5 times a week at various times. When I answer they take ages to talk to me. Havn't had them hang up on me yet, I beat them to it

They have been calling me twice a day for a week now and I just havent answered, I think they are getting the hint now because I havent had a call today...then again maybe its their day off?

Got them calling me at least twice a day now. Won't speak to my wife, only me (I used to be a member of Books Direct). E-mail contact in their website is no good, and they won't talk even when I do answer the phone. They're a pain in the ****. Tried calling 01525 720000, but got no answer (?!?!). How do you get rid of these people?

This number has been calling me at least twice a day, every day for the last 3 weeks! I have caller display and never answer and even my 6 year child knows to check if it is this number before answering. We treat it as a bit of a laugh really and sometimes just for fun take the phone of the cradle and leave it on the table for a couple of minutes. I think they might get bored before we do.

We are registered with TPS but these pests ring twice a day (always twice!).  The 'phone rings 6 times (again, always) then they hang up.  I have answered previously and categorically stated that they are not to call again.  But they do, again and again.

I am sick to the back teeth of this number on my phone. Im registered with the TPS, we have caller ID so we know who is calling. This number calls us sometimes 4 times a day. I dont answer it. If it is a book club like some of you on here have said, my husband told them a while back to stop phoning us. Im so fed up with it now. I'd like to stick this number where the sun dont shine!!
