these people call me all the time and when i answer its silent for ages like everyone else said and when they eventually do speak they are nasty and ignorant no telephone manner at all! then to top it all of they asked for a mr.(my surname) of which there is 3 in my house without using my initial spoke to my father and told him very personal details of my finances! surely they are breaking date protetion and also calling so often is harassment i have half a mind to tell them if they ring one more time they can just cancel my outstanding balance because they would lose much more if i take them to court

Called today silent call.

My so called "debt" arose when I returned my car to Yes Car Credit. I noticed that the contract with them stated that I could return the vehicle to them at no cost when I had paid x-amount, so I did. Shortly after that, Yes Car Credit seized trading. Months go by and suddenly this company calls me and says that I'm still liable for the outstanding insurance payments which were part of the contract. Unfortunately for them, I had read the contract carefully and nowhere did it state this. The section of the contract which stated the amount at which I could return the car, had no footnote or asterix refering to another part of the contract, so NO I am not liable as I told them. They then threatened court action and I told them to go ahead, I even said please do, because they haven't got a prayer.

And here's the point to the story: If they were certain that they were entitled to this "debt", they wouldn't even have to contact me. They'd just initiate court proceedings and next thing I know, is I receive a summons letter from court. They could also get my current address from the electoral roll, if they had a case, but they obviously don't because I have never received any correspondance from them.

If ever there were a group of people who deserve a tumor at the bottom of their spine..........

Absolute bunch of W*****S!!! Just give these idiots a few silent calls back myself. Got the same person a couple of times and could tell they didnt like being hung up on. Why is no authority doing something about this company? Maybe someone should start a complaint about these idiots or get in touch with watchdog or something like that.

they call me everyday, just gne past 8am then again at 11 then at 4, then, at 8pm!! Bloody nuisance!!

Just has a call from these people, they asked if i was Mr X and told them i wasn't to which they said "Do you know him, he's given us this number" again i told them i didn't to which the tone of voice changed. It's a brand new mobile number i have, so new it was set up just yesterday.

Just hope this isn't the start of more calls to follow.

Aktiv Kapital are the worlds number 1 [***] they allways try to ring me they have even tried ringing me at 7.30am to 10pm whats the need talk about harassment they sent me a letter with out standing balance on it and if i didnt pay they would take me to court so i started paying some back then stoped all i get now is phone call after phone call no letters saying there going to take me to court there just trying to scare you if they send a letter saying that just bin it and if you have to change your number do it that seems the only way they try contacting you i have just blocked all there numbers, they still have all my house details but they still havent sent anymore letters and if they do manage to get you to court some how just keep all the calls on your phone and get them done for harassment.The numbers i have for them are as follows:

I'm lucky enough to have a "reject list" on my mobile but it is getting rapidly filled up with these cowboys' alternative numbers!! THem and Thames Credit!!

I'm an 11 year old girl and i got a call from this number the other day. they're really getting on my nerves!!

Go to moneysavingexpert.com and search for this company. You will find details on who they are and how to deal with them.

They buy books of so-called debt from various companies who have written it off as there is almost no chance of getting it back. Or lists of creditors from insolvency practitioners, usually when the company is on the verge of being wound up ie insolvency almost completed. Often the information is out of date, incorrect and/or incomplete. For this they pay a few pence per £1,000 of 'debt' bought. Using intimidation tactics, they hope that their gamble will pay off and people will pay up for peace and quiet.

My OH got into their hands when he bought about £200 of goods from Debenhams on their credit as he got 10% off. He had the cash to pay, but thought 10% off was a good deal. As soon as he received the card he cut it up and sent it back, asked for the account to be closed and sent a cheque for the outstanding amount. Heard nothing more and cheque was cashed.

It was probably never credited to the right account - ask any financial services worker what level their companies payments suspense account is at - this is where payments go to when they can't be allocated straight away. Usually the account number or name has been keyed in incorrectly.

Five years later this lot are constantly in contact by phone and letter. Best was at Xmas, they would accept half the debt in 'full and final payment'. Yeah right, by doing so you are admitting you are liable for the debt, and so yeah they'll give up. 'F&FP' has NO legal standing! Followed MSE advice & voila. Credit report corrected (the nerve!) and no more calls. I now keep an eye out for people asking for help on how to deal with this Pond Scum.

Firstly it's illegal for debt collection agencies to call more than once, and secondly if they call and there's no immediate answer within 4 seconds, put the phone down, and they will then be fined £2000 by OFCOM for losing calls.

These people have called me upto 15 time in one day, since I quoted the Telecommunications Act to them they dont seem to constantly call any more, and my so called debt is over 6 years old, and that comes under the Statue of Limitations Act, feel free to quote them Aktiv Capital don't like it.

This was one of the four companies named in the Beryl Brazier case (the other three being Wescot, Datatrace UK, and GE Money), in which an entirely innocent old woman was driven to take her own life because of each one of these four companies.

If ANYONE is paying these companies, it's too much!

I've had two calls from this on my mobile and their other number 0800 731 6361 both times asking for Steve Dixon. They clearly didn't believe me as they've been trying ever since. Maybe they've got the message now but not so sure now I know who was calling him. If anyone knows Steve Dixon's real number please let me know ;)

Why are these people giving me silent calls?  Harrassment.

Activ Capital - they appear to be a "debt management agency". If you call back from a mobile the 0800 number is not free. Possibly just a scam. Woke up my daughter calling at 9pm two nights in a row. I called back from a landline which should be free and asked them to remove my number (they were looking for the wrong person anyway). We'll see whether that helps...

Someone has been calling from this number all day today and then hanging up.

This company keep ringing me asking for someone with a similar name to me but it isnt me (I believe my ex tried to set up some dodgy stuff for his new gf in my name but didnt spell it right and im now married so my name is different) they wouldnt take the hint that Im not going to give them any details they didnt even know where I lived which if they had would realise its in Chester.. guess where their offices are??
The reason this company will not take anyone to court is because the court fee's and solicitor fee's to lodge the case would usually be more than the debt is and it would be thrown out immediately as many peoples debts are over 6years which any judge would know is over the statute of limitations..
Do not pay these people anything they cannot get this money back from you any way but by bullying you into it.. report them to ofcom for nuisance calls and if a child is receiving them report them immediately to the police!

Debt purchasers - Aktiv Capital (inAktiv brains!) Their persistance is now reaching about 4 yrs. Why are some organizations incapable of learning? When they eventually stop I will still not know WHY they think it is ok to harrass. I have a phone to make calls, not receive them.
