Any ideas who this one is please? The made a lot of silent calls to me last year, then it calmed down.  Now they have started again.  If I ring them back, the recorded announcement gives a name that sounds like "Sera". At least they don't call at night, but the sheer number of calls is proving to be a nuisance.

The company concerned is SERIF (EUROPE) LTD, PO Box 2000, Nottingham, NG11 7GW. They have been calling me too but I've tracked them down on the net.

I have been a customer of Serif (on and off) for well over fifteen years and I get regular e-mail updates on their products as well as special offers on software and hardware. However, having made a hardware purchase from them late last year, I too have had persistent sales calls for their mainstream software products. There was a lull after I had a lengthy conversation with a sales person and eventually convinced him that despite all the offers and deals, following an aside with the probably non-existent supervisor, I was not in a position to benefit from their latest offering. The calls have started again this week, probably due to another offer or recent release of software.

It's a shame when a company that you trust with products and, as mentioned elsewhere, customer service that you value, resorts (or feels the need to resort) to such tactics.

I too have been a Serif customer for a few years & have bought & have been generally pleased with the products. I do however disagree with their pressure tactics. They will heavily discount products you buy if you try & send them back!

I too have been a customer for a long time (in fact since before they where serif) and a registered user and on there Mailing + Email Lists but the recent VERY HIGH number of dead calls I have had from them makes me think that in future      
I will on the next clear call that comes in, ask the caller to hold for a moment and let them listen to the radio for the odd half hour or so!!

I also have been recieving calls from this company since buying software from them some years ago. Its very annoying and totaly irritating. A good company would not need to keep hassling people for custom, and would use good manners, which this company do not seem to possess.

I found this site trying to identify a "missed call". I've been a Serif customer for many years and consider their main products exceptional value. I too have recieved a number of calls but I do recall giving them permission to update me and it only happens (to me) two or three times a year. Never have the callers been impolite and more than once I've explained the timing was inconvenient and asked if they would try at a later, nominated, time, each time they have agreed and cleared the line with no "pressure" at all.

Now I know that the number was Serif I will be giving them a call to see what the current offer is!

I've also been a Serif customer for many years, but their persistent silent calls are really annoying me now. I won't be purchasing further products from them.

I'm a long-term serif customer but hate being called at home - putting down the phone or pretending to be in a hurry didn't stop the calls but as soon as I cottoned onto this and specifically asked to be removed from their calling list, calls stopped alltogether.  maybe just try this?

I too am a satisfied user of Serif software but definately NO MORE!! They are so persistant and pressurising when they call you at home, first they hit you with only £150 then when you say no it goes to £99.99 then after repeatedly saying NO!!!!! you might be even more unlucky to get it offered at such a super reduced rate of £79.99...When will this company learn that they have shot themselves in the foot with so many customers by not understanding a plain and simple NO!!!!!!!.
I too have emailed them on the customer srevice line to be removed from all calls but have yet to have a reply. Unfortunately if the calls persist then stronger action may be needed.
Take heart all pestered public let us hope they cancel the calls!!

I've purchased Serif software in the past and generally been very pleased with it, and when speaking to them on the phone have always found them very polite.
 The sales dept at Serif do, however, make a lot of follow up calls hoping to make further sales. This is also the case with some other companies, and my solution to this situation is to leave my answering machine on all the time. Then, when a call comes through, the line is invariably dropped after the first few seconds of the playing of the outgoing message if it is just a 'cold call' - if it's important, the caller will leave a message, or I can always intercept the call at any time to speak to the caller.

I purchased some software from them a few years ago. They persistently call me and try the hard sell.  I've asked them not to contact me but they continue. I just hang up but they've tried twice today, a few times yesterday and so it continues. I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANY SERIF SOFTWARE IN THE FUTURE.  They are seriously frustrating me.

I have been getting loads of calls from this number, even if I amswered the call(silent response) it still registered as a missed call !, I assumed it was one of those scams that wanted me to call back the so called missed call in order to land me with a huge bill !
Thanks very much for the information I have seen on this number, I have just sent serif an email stating that I have been recieving silent calls, that there is now a police tap on my phone, that if I continue to recieve calls silent or not, they will find themselves charged with making nuciance calls !

Daily, twice daily nuisance from this number.  Such a shame as their software is such superb value.  All they need do is let it stand on its own merits and not alienate customers, existing and potential, with such tactics.

they call me all the time, and when i say no they try and do deals, i did get some stuff from them years ago and it cost me £300 and my hubby went mad as because some off the things that came i did not use so i sold them on and made my money back and kept what i needed.
now i know the number i just dont answer the phone too them but it is getting a pain with them calling all the time.
