having answered the phone it was clear that someone was on the other end who refused to say who they were or anything at all before hanging up.

Believe it to be Craftmatic Adjustable Beds based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, They were on Rogue Traders a couple of years back over their high pressure sales techniques.

I was phoned by 0800387177, and after being told that we had been entered into a prize draw, the caller hung up. I checked the number that called and phoned it, it was Craftmatic beds. I remembered the name from a TV programme called ROUGE TRADERS, that was investigating them about their high pressure sales techniques, especially targeting the elderly. Luckily for me the phone was not answered and an answer phone cut in which is where we found out the name. I'm not sure for the hanging up as 0800 numbers are free to call back, maybe it's a legal loop hole to say that you called them, before trying to arrange a high pressure salesman to call on you an sell you something you do not need.

Just had a call from these numpty's.  Saying I had entered a competion to win a craftmatic bed some time ago.  Obiviously I did I mean I'm 30 every thirty year old wants to win a craftmatic bed! Not! They were very kind to say that i had won £500 but to get the £500 I had to answer a survey!!  Something smells fishy! Do people that phone you up (and struggle to speak english) saying you entered fictional competions think you are really that stupid? Shouldn't this sort of crap be stopped???

we dont normaly answer 0800, with helds ect or international calls but this one has phoned 5 times in last 24 hours. We still havent they hang up when the answer phone cuts in, good advivce for any one who does not know who's calling. My brother told me about this web site. Now we can tell them we know all about them.

yes this has been happening to me for weeks and when I do answer the phone is put down everytime. :(

An update from above: I also filled out a complaint form at Ofcom and mentioned that in the email. I've just had a call from Craftmatic (I think his name was Tahir Mahmood), asking for my name so he could delete me from the database. We'll see ...
Incidentally, he was calling from 01865 823475.

I've also just had a call from this number.   During the last week this is the 3rd different 'strange' number I've received - with 8 actual calls.

I have been having calls from this number every hour for the last 2 days. When I do answer the phone is cut off. I have called them back and asked for my number to be removed from their calling list. Went through exactly the same a few months ago, and am still being pestered.

Whilst reading The Sun newspaper the other day I noticed that there was a very large advertisement stating that a sales rep could earn commissions of £3,900 a week, I mean come on!!!!!

Intrigued by this myself and a few colleagues rang this number and asked them what we were going to be asked to sell to which their answer was "I don’t know".  Of course people know what a load of rubbish.

I then saw the smallest company logo that was barely visible to the naked eye, Lo, it belonged to Craftmatic UK Limited.

Don't buy from them or sell for them would be my advice if you have any morals at all.

Yup - they just called me. No one said a thing... I hung up and dialled 1471 - but couldnt as they were still on the line! Eventually 1471 recorded 08000387177 as the number in question.

Two call approx 1hr apart caller hung up virtually immediately.

Coincidence that we were contacted by craftmatic about a competition which we then turned down, as not being interested.

Two phone calls today about hour apart. Cut off as soon as I answered.1471 and a bit of research found this page. I know what I will be sating should they call again (and answer me when I pick up). Called back got answerphone Craftmatic UK.

After several call and hang ups over the past few days, I put on a frail voice when I answered and got a response, she told me she was calling from Craftmatic UK. I mentioned Rouge Traders and High pressure selling. I was told the call was a response to a prize draw. I asked the caller to be quiet and listen to me. She refused then said "I will talk all day, this is my job". When I said that I would be reporting the company, she hung up

Called 5 times in one day. Nobody at other end. Had to disconnect phone to retrieve dialling tone.
Returned call answer phone said Craftmatic UK
