Received a call from this number this morning, but immediate hang up.  When one rings back, there is a message from The Listening Company, admitting to being a marketing agency and some instructions for removing your number, by dialling 0800 032 4617.  It seems legitimate.

ringing over two months different times of the day when answered no one there last call to date 12/12/07 time 17.05

i just got one about ten minutes ago and ive had them in early hours of the morning sometimes i get scared help!!!

They say they are from Orange Mobile Business and try to sell Orange mobiles and broadband.  And each time they call I say to them, we do not get any signal with Orange here whatsoever.  Not even one tiny bar.  And they always say "Ok I call back later".

phoned earlier noone was on the line but they blocked up my phone n then they phoned again asking for my partner saying they were Sky TV and need to speak to him.

just had them claiming to be o2 but i know there not so gave them a lot abuse and they hung up now trying to trace who they are and report them

I got their call in the morning today, they say they are calling from bt to ask me to apply some credit card.

got a call 10 mins ago @ 09.37am 12th january 2008, they have been calling me for the last 4 days at different times, every time i answer they are not there, i called them back and it was the listening company?

Just got a call from this number, the phone rang and when I picked up the phone they said my name and hung up ,
this is a scam for a company to add you to a call list, If you pick up the phone they put you on a hot list ,Then they sell this Information to marketing companies to scam you into buying Double Glazing or the next big thing ,If you phone them back they will try to sell you something and add your number to another list , Just another form of spam

I have received calls from this number on my mobile, repeatedly on the hour throughout the last two or three days.  Sometimes a voicemail message is left but it's silent.  

This is highly annoying because it means I have to dial my message service to pick it up and delete it, and that costs me money!  I don't answer any of the calls and it would be great if there was some way to bar the number.

They announce by a recording that they are from "banking retail" and they want to confirm security details - DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION WHATSOEVER.

Calls my phone, as soon as my answer phone comes on, they ring off.
I rang the number back and it said it was "The Listening Company"....dont bother to phone these wasters back, they are a wind up along with the rest of them.

I get so many of these calls It makes me Sooooo annoyed, I would love to turn the phone ringer off but Im disabled and my Hubby is seriosuly ill so the phone is my life line. It is very distressing to keep gettting time wasting calls... And who are the Listening Company anyway ? With a name like that its sounds mighty dubious & Suspicious to me !

By the way I was given this advise ... when one of these 0800 type No's ring, press the hash key over and over until they put the phone down.
Apparently its screws up their phone line and they loose your number of the system...Im going to try it next time ( You can do it to "silent" and "live callers", just keep pressing that hash until they end the call )Good Luck !

Was called by this number and they claimed to be O2 asking me to sign for 12 months more. They wanted personal details "for security purposes". Didn't give anything out.

No caller id. Just the number showed.

Just got 3 rings and hangup.  Did 1471 and looked the number up here.

I got called by this number today 5/2/2008 14:40.  I don't answer any number unless they are in my phonebook.  I then google the number and find out who they are.  I want to thank everyone for adding this information, it stops you going crazy wondering who it was.  I always think if its important they will leave a message.  No message then they are time wasters.

I keep receiving calls from this number, when I answer the line goes silent and then they hang up.

I am ex-directory so it is annoying that they have got hold of my number, this thread of information has been quite useful!
