I have started getting these lately, once or twice per day. I don't answer.

For those that get more calls per day, would this constitue a DoS (Denial of Service) attack? Ie. while they are calling, you cannot call 999 in an emergency? DoS (in Internet and computer world) I think might be a criminal offence... Would these companies be liable if they call and then hang up?

Silence for about a second then they hung up on me, almost as bad as a prank call.

Ah, thankfully most days I am out so never actually experience these. Today however I did get quite a plethora of these calls. Like many, left BT, and suspect that this is why 2Touch are calling me, because of my former affiliation with BT. I did however phone up their switchboard +44 (0)191 525 7000 and politely asked to have my number removed from their database. The woman was very polite and said that it will be removed from their dialler, but may take a couple of hours to complete.

Having lived in the US for a year, I've learnt to screen my calls at ALL times, sorry family and friends, but you might be trying to sell me crap (actually, sometimes even they are ;-)

We keep getting silent calls from this number, a few times per day. We would really like these to stop

This number keeps calling at least 3-4 times a day despite being ex-directory, when answered there is silence. I just let it ring out now. It really is a pain in the a**e as I work from home. Someone must know about this company and be able to put a stop to it.

Over the past week this number 08004088090 has been calling - you pick up the phone and the line goes dead.  
I dialled 1471 and got this number - the message says it is 2touch calling on behalf of their many "prestigious" clients - B.T., EDF or EDS Energy, Candice, Natural Collection and two others I couldn't understand.  I googled 2 touch and found their number (as the chap above has noted) which is 0191-525-7000.  I phoned them and demanded that they stop these calls.  My 92 year old mother has been struggling to the phone and then it goes dead.  Really distressing and annoying.  Do they really think anybody would buy anything from any of them if they stayed on the line ??? !!!  Anyway, I told 2 touch I would tell everybody I could think of about their wretched company and lazy, sloppy and potentially dangerous nuisance calls -so here I am.
I also complained to BT about these calls on behalf of BT and they have promised my telephone number will NEVER again be used for any marketing/sales calls, but it can take a month to kick in.
So - complain to 2Touch, complain to B.T. -tell everyone you know about these positively menacing phone calls - and finally, simply refuse EVER to buy anything from any of the companies 2Touch list when you dial the freephone number.  RETURN THEIR PAIN !!

Forgot to say - I have received 15 calls in 3 days - all hang ups.

Rang twice and doesn't speak. Annoying and will get the number barred. I will report them for mis use of personal data through this route and phone service provider.

I will not call back as I don't want to be charged for their inconvenience.

ive had two of these calls today within one hour everytime i answer they hang up its so annoying when no-one answers lets stop it now.

I called the above telephone number and got put through to Dave Huck and asked to be removed from the cold calling list.

I am also being plagued, again by this company. Last month, I called and was assured that my number would be taken off their list. Ha, that is why they have started again, and up to 10 times a day.
I have just emailed them requesting this stops, I also said that the email will be forwarded to OFCOM and also TPS, who I am a member of. The calls are unsolicited and are bordering on harassment. They have 24 hours in which to comply.
I am also in the process of letting all the companies that they are representing aware of this companies practice, as it doesn't look too good for them.
I also do believe it is because I left BT, as these calls started the day after my current provider contacted them to take over my service. If this is the case, then this is even more reason why I will now never go back to BT.

I am working for 2touch at the moment selling bt phone calling plans (I say selling, I'm not actually charging any extra for it so not really charging). I agree cold calling is crap but its paying my wages at the moment, and its fairly easy as I can actually save 9/10 people money.
However if you want us to stop calling you, your best bet is to 1stly be polite, and not patronising, or have a go at me myself, and just ask for me to put you down as a never call
If you are rude, patronising or just moan at me then say "delete my number", the chances are I will put you down as a callback just for talking to me like crap.
I no cold calling is annoying, but just think of the crap the person who is phoneing you has to take!
