- dave| 1 replyA facebook scammer, watch out for this so called "iq test" on facebook.the number belongs to a new zealand telecom user (off shore)
- KahoutekI took a IQ Trivia Test on line from a Pop-Up box and then was asked for my cell phone number (I should've stopped right then but I didn't) and then they sent me a text and gave me a pin which I entered on line to get my results. They sent me a text with my results as well as three more texts at a charge of $4.00 per text. I forgot to read the fine print which says you are automatically subscribed once you take the quiz. Luckily I sent them a text right away and told them to STOP my subscription. I received one right away saying Ur now unsubscribed from the IQ Trivia Club. For help call 0800 448 803.

- AmyBut it costs 20cents to stop it!!!
- IanWould agree with Kahoutek's comments above. Took the IQ Trivia Quizz. They require a cellphone number so they can send the result. You are required to enter 1 4 digit code to get the IQ Test result then find that you are automatically signed up incurring a 12.00 sign up fee and advised that all future trivia texts will cost you 4.00. On reredaing their initial text I note they don't even use $ signs, just digits, which are added to the end of the above 0800 helpdesk no. This is a rip off. A means of scamming $'s for the unwary.

- John| 1 replyWhat if you used a pre pay phone? I didn't have any money on it so if I put $20 on it will it get eaten up by 8803?
- DenisRipped off by them also. $30 have gone towards those scammers from my pocket. Do not understand the txt language clearly. Going to enquire hard about the case in Vodafone. Can't beleive it is so easy to scam people this way with the help of a respected company using so crappy contract... Maybe it is a good time to organise an identical affair... What a shame! If everybody will act the same way...
- AnnaThose crappy people are scammers but my question was why didn't anybody stop them. Well now I know my answer. I just felt like an idiot when fell into the crappy IQ Quiz. Their questions suck, I answered them And I was right. I don't think their're trying to find out how smart you are, I think they are trying find out how stupid you are. Guess what! $30 dollars had gone for into the stinky hands of those scammers. I can't beleive I fell for their [***] knowing I have to bail (not exactly bail like in prison but pay is the word) They are just poor and need money. How the heck are they going to get money like THAT! I'm writing a letter to Vodafone. I can't beleive a well respected shop fell in love with a [***] plan. Gonna not try to pay.
- MylesIts a simply smart scam. I've formally complained to Telecom to investigate the 0800 subscriber. Fortunately for me (so far) I had a minimal balance on my mobile however the 'loss' of money so quickly is unsettling, but it does go to show how easily technology allows us to be screwed in the blink of an eye!

- ManoThis guy is the worse crook in the world. Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Telecom Australia & New Zealandand plus FBI should investiage and put him behind bars. Telecom had given the free phone number they have his address which should be submitted to FBI and Police for investigation.
- Victim of ScamIf New Zealand Telecom had provided an 0800 phone number to this crook Telecom New Zealand should know the contact details and address etc since it receives the payment from this guy. When I complained to telecom they asked me to send a text to 4120 asking them to stop and they will stop it. But in the meantime I had been billed for $30.00. I feel a staff at telecom is involved with this scam. Telecom should refund all the victims immediately what they have been billed by telecom. This crook is playing us out with telocm New Zealand staff involvement. All musdt write to Managing Director Telecom, FairGo, TVNZ, Target, Campbell alive, Holmes show calling for an investigation. Enough is enough

- ScammedThis is a total scam. They text bomb you for 3 calls at #3.95 each before you can reply to stop them being sent. They also change the number for stopping txt so if you just reply to the number the txt is coming from it probably won't cancel. You have to send STOP SMART to 4121 (not 4120 - the number the txts are sent from). Tricky!!
I phoned telecom and lodged a complaint. They will not/cannot do anything about it because they are "just the billing agent" and don't have anything to do with the account. However the lovely lady on the phone said she could reverse the charges on my account so (hopefully) the charges have been removed. A big bouquet for this lovely lady at Telecom (sorry I didn't catch her name).

- Laree khamisOh my goodness! i am so seriously ANGRY! how could they/he/she be so hungus for money... man it sucks for gullable people like me. stupid crap!! luky i have no money on my fone. im too scared to top up atm. hahaha.
- leahThis is a BIG SCAM. These people take your number pretending to give you FREE results on your IQ. However, they lead you to enter a PIN to get your IQ but they don't tell you that when you want to get your IQ (as it seems) they have to charge $3.5 per message and they send messages 3 to 4 x a week. They scam people almost $20 a week if they do not STOP or un subscribe. Vodafone is not willing to refund money as well. So we need to form a complaint against this number. 0800 800 021 - vodafone support - if you have been scammed, please do help us get our money back
